Norwood Sawmills, a leading manufacturer of portable sawmills and forestry equipment, is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team. Responsibilities


  • Stay up-to-date on changes in tax regulations and ensure compliance in all accounts payable activities
  • Process all expense reports, credit card reconciliations and reimbursements to client accounts
  • Resolve and reconcile discrepancies and issues amongst internal departments and/or vendors relating to invoices or payments
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all accounts payable transactions and other related record keeping
  • Process vendor invoices by verifying accuracy, ensuring proper approvals, and post into the accounting system
  • Process regular payables runs via EFT, checks and other payment methods as required
  • Provide assistance and backup support to other members of the accounting team as needed
  • Review and reconcile statements from vendors, ensuring that all payments are accounted for and accurate
  • Prioritize and manage payment schedules to ensure timely payments and avoid late fees or penalties
  • Monitor discount opportunities, chargebacks statuses and pending credit memos


Requirements


  • Diploma or degree in Accounting or related field
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Customer focused approach to interacting with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to perform with a high sense of urgency
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with accounting software preferred but not required
  • ERP/MRP and Netsuite experience is considered an asset
  • Excellent organization and record-keeping skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
  • 2+ years of experience in accounts payable or similar role
  • Ability to excel and adapt to new and changing environments
