The Role

As an integral member of our team, the Accounting Supervisor will play a pivotal role in overseeing and guiding our accounting operations to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. The successful candidate will supervise our accounting team, run the day-to-day financial activities, government remittance processes, and the production of essential financial documents. A key responsibility involves preparing monthly statements and budgets, contributing to month-end and year-end processing, and collaborating with external auditors.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate should possess a solid background in accounting, backed by practical experience or an equivalent educational combination. Proficiency in supervising teams is crucial. Adeptness with month-end procedures, government remittance, budgeting, and meticulous record-keeping is vital. Technical capabilities are a must, with experience in accounting software, advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, and proficiency in Microsoft O365 applications. Precision and accuracy are non-negotiable attributes, given the role's focus on maintaining error-free financial records. The successful candidate will excel in organizational and time-management skills, demonstrating resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Producing budgets and forecasting
• Job Costing
• Month End/ Year End Processing
• Review bank and balance sheet recommendations
• Government remittance
• Prepare files and work with exterior auditors
• Supervise accounting team
• Payroll processing backup
• Produce monthly statements

Qualifications

• Experience in NetSuite or another similar ERP considered an asset
• Degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• Experience with month-end statements and government remittances.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with budgeting and forecasting
• Experience with SharePoint is considered an asset
• Strong time management skills along with a high degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability.
• Experience with accounting software
• High level of accuracy.
• A minimum of 5 years experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficient in all Microsoft O365 applications.
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous records maintenance skills including the ability to maintain filing systems and databases.
• Previous leadership experience is considered an asset
