Accountant - Ottawa, On

We are seeking Accountants in Ottawa and the surrounding area! The successful candidate would have 3+ years of experience as an Accountant and have hands-on experience with Sage, QuickBooks, or similar accounting software.

About the role

The successful candidate will:

• Prepare budget forecasts
• Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual closings to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records
• Oversee and manage accounting transactions
• Reconcile accounts payable and receivable and ensure that all financial transactions are correctly recorded
• Maintain the confidentiality of financial data and conduct database backups when needed
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets and profit/loss statements

About you

• 3+ years of experience as an Accountant; experience in a public accounting firm is a plus
• Experience with general ledger functions
• CPA certification is a plus!
• Advanced MS Excel skills, including Vlookups and pivot tables
• Hands-on experience with accounting software like Sage and QuickBooks
• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
• Have a degree/diploma in Accounting, Finance or equivalent
• Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
