Accountant For Hotel Resort

We are seeking an experienced accountant to join our team at our hotel resort. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and standards.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial regulations and accounting standards.
• Maintain accurate and timely financial records of the hotel resort.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice management and collections.
• Reconcile accounts and ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded and accounted for.
• Liaise with external auditors and government agencies for financial audits and reporting requirements.
• Prepare and manage monthly and annual financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Other accounting duties as assigned.
• Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends and provide recommendations to improve profitability.

Qualifications:

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• CPA designation is an asset.
• At least a couple years of accounting experience, preferably in a hotel or resort setting.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and accounting software.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Experience using Opera software is an asset.
