Perform full lifecycle product development (design, develop, test prototypes, manufacture and implement)

Responsible for the review of construction scopes against regulatory requirements, permit conditions, commitments and Environmental Management System requirements

Work with site management in the support of risk assessment and change-management initiatives.

Conduct QA/QC on monitoring compliance activities related to water management;

Work in collaboration with all departments and permitting team related to water and waste management;

Implementation of key environmental programs and initiatives as directed by the Environmental Superintendent or Manager

5-7 years environmental experience on mining operations and/or construction projects

Previous mining experience is an asset.

Experience tending divers and participating in dive operations considered an asset

Undertaking field monitoring and supporting external reporting as required under existing permits, licenses and Baffinland’s environmental management system.

Incident management and corrective action follow up

Delivering staff environmental training/ orientation/ awareness for conducting fieldwork, sampling, inspections, equipment use and other environmental monitoring requirements.

5-7 years of Emergency Response related experience in the construction or mining industry

Experience in Behavior Based Observation.

Act as incident commander and provide the leadership to the emergency response team and the following:

Provide technical expertise in risk assessments and emergency response procedure development.

Participate in incident investigations involving surface mine rescue and emergency response

Participate in the development, execution and debrief of spill response and emergency scenario exercises and conduct readiness drills for camp evacuations

Input data for time accounting, daily status reports, and work order management
