Minimum five (5) years related waste management experience, and a minimum of two (2) years of direct supervisory experience. 

Thorough knowledge of waste management industry and related practices and policies.

Must have a thorough understanding of best practices in the waste management industry and related practices and policies.

Assumes functions of the Manager in that person’s absence, as directed.

Demonstrated knowledge of relevant regulations, guidelines, procedures, standards and legislation.

Display a keen interest in waste management and environmental education

Strong organizational and time management skills

Working knowledge and experience with Salesforce Software

Completed high school diploma or equivalent education

Recent experience (2-5 years) in the development and /or implementation of waste management programs

Comprehensive knowledge of environmental legislation and laws and the principles and practices of environmental safety

Demonstrated leadership skills and ability;

Evidence of commitment to continuous education through pursuit of undergraduate studies or comparable educational endeavours;

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all levels of staff, administration and government officials

High level of initiative with demonstrated excellence in communication, team building, organization and the ability to initiate and model positive change.

Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent with six (6) months job related experience.

Senior Solid Waste Management Engineer

Develop, lead, and manage project teams.

Manage or support projects in Ontario, Alberta, or BC and internationally.

Manage clients, staff, and subcontractors.

Using your current client experience to assist in the growth of the department, prepare proposals, and pursue new clients and opportunities.

Experience in the development or implementation of waste management programs would be considered an asset.

Work in collaboration with all other departments to develop or enhance water and waste management programs across the Project site.

Assist in the development, review and update of procedures relating to water and waste management.

Participate in design reviews, scope development and execution of projects & improvement initiatives related to water and waste management.

5-7 years of experience in a similar role

Experience with Potable, Effluent & Waste Water Treatment Systems

Experience working in diverse qualifications team environment.

Experience in laboratory work including testing and troubleshooting equipment and systems; systems oversight and maintenance;

Significant experience in digital and analog electronics including design, layout, board generation, part specification, construction, testing and troubleshooting;

Experience in general programming, computer interfacing;

Experience with radio frequency electronics, FPGA and micro-controller programming would be considered an asset;

Experience with power supply systems, both AC/DC and DC/DC supplies and battery backup systems;
