Apply project management to the planning and execution of the sourcing process.

We are looking for a candidate who possesses the following skills and abilities:

Proven and extensive expertise leading sourcing initiatives, processes and developing strategies (i.e. deal management, contract review and negotiations, RFX, etc.)

Must be able to work collaboratively within the procurement team as well as customers, stakeholders, suppliers, and senior management.

Lead and manage the sourcing process for high visibility, high risk, high spend initiatives.

Lead procurement contracting activities within the Business Services spend category.

Hourly salary of $45 to $49, based on experience.

Knowledge and experience of risk identification, management and mitigation

Supporting risk management for both internal and external mandates

Internal project management (including budgets) and reporting

Familiar and proficient with project management processes

Excellent interpersonal skills and experience of leading and working within a team

A post-secondary degree with 10+ years of career experience related to the development of technical procurement documentation, engineering and/or infrastructure development

Excellent interpersonal communication and sales skills, with strong ability to understand, engage and persuade others

Sales or sales/advocacy-style experience a plus but not required

Type A success-driven personality with a strong work ethic and ability to work highly independently

Resiliency—when you are ignored or brushed off it does not discourage you but rather motivates you to try harder

Personal interest in animal welfare and/or sustainability

Knowledge of green building practices and certification systems (LEED, Green Globes, ect.);

Support the delivery of sustainability and green building certification services;

Review and document project submittals to ensure compliance with sustainability targets and rating system requirements;

Submit projects for certification and compile any additional documentation requested during secondary review;

Desire to continuously learn and improve technical/professional skills;

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects; can quickly adapt to shifting priorities;

Support asset management in North America, building and leveraging the competencies of the Sustainable Energies Group team

Build and manage relationships with CPP Investments’ internal teams and portfolio companies’ management teams

Demonstrated interpersonal effectiveness, in terms of upwards management and establishing relationship with other team members

Ability to build relationships across cultures/geographies, including with key advisors/partners/management teams

Strong deal execution capabilities. Ability to liaise with external advisors (particularly investment banks) and coordinate deal execution

Manage a combination of customer facing and non-customer facing operational responsibilities for your joint portfolio of customers

Computer literate (MS office, Google Suite, Project management tools…)

0- 2 years successful direct customer experience with large accounts acquired in a fast paced environment

The ideal candidate has formal education in a related field (Supply chain, sustainability, business)

Excellent communication skills (Both written and oral) is a must.

Excellent excel and data analytical skills

5+ years of experience in project management and a proven track record of successful project delivery within budget and on schedule

Strong leadership and management skills, ability to manage a team of 10-15 scientists, analysts, and researchers

Familiarity with project management software and tools, such as Microsoft Project or Primavera, and PMIS

Meet with potential clients and document client needs, developing an offering that meets and exceeds those needs in a timely manner

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to communicate complex ideas to different audiences and build relationships with clients, stakeholders, and vendors

Knowledge of the transportation industry, particularly in zero-emissions transit, and understanding of the challenges and opportunities in this field.

Interest [MC1] , knowledge and understanding of current ESG market themes and standards is a key requirement for the role.

Have strong analytical and critical thinking skills and good attention to detail and comfortable working with and drawing conclusions from data.

Have good knowledge of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Access)

Be fluent in English (written and spoken). Detailed knowledge of an additional language will be beneficial

Will have to present and discuss internally (and externally) their findings and related outputs.

Ability to start September 2023 in Toronto ( hybrid office schedule [JR2] )
