Experience in a higher education and knowledge of personal, social, academic and systemic barriers impacting a student’s success.

Intervene in difficult and potentially contentious situations including suicide intervention, crisis management, conflict resolution, case management, and mediation.

Bachelor’s degree in social work, counselling, education or related field (or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience).

Knowledge of academic systems and the requirements for success.

A minimum of 3 years’ experience in post-secondary or closely related settings.

Knowledge of best practices related to equity-seeking populations and groups.

Four (4) years related experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Investigates and analyzes academic problems and works with the Student Services and Recruitment Manager to find resolutions.

Assists the Student Services and Recruitment Manager with graduation and welcome events and presentations.

Unique and unusual files and referred to the Student Services and Recruitment Manager.

Experience working directly with both graduate and undergraduate student records, registration and admissions is preferred.

Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities.

Experience working with mature students in a cross cultural environment

Provide assistance to students in all programs within the classroom(s) during subject areas specifically in mathematics and sciences

Participate in classroom initiatives such as but not limited to independent work periods, group work, study sessions and more.

Developing and presenting academic based content to support student success through workshops, presentations and /or lunch and learns and more.

Collaborate with both Learning Specialist(s) and Instructor(s) in providing assistance to students who may require a more in depth one-to-one support

Prepare sessions in conjunction with instructors to ensure students meet academic standards

All CSR’s are required to have knowledge of the student life cycle and understand how their role impacts enrollments.

Be knowledgeable on and follow FOIP regulations, always respecting confidentiality, using good note taking practices.

Demonstrated knowledge and compliance with SAIT safety guidelines, required Job Hazard Analysis and SAIT Safety Policy HS.1.1

Effective communication, de-escalation and conflict resolution skills are required

Strong problem-solving and investigation skills are required

Respond to internal and external inquiries that come via telephone, Freshdesk, front service desk, or other channels.

Provides administrative support to the office, including file management, mail merges, registration processing, taking minutes, and compiling data and reports

Demonstrates a commitment to enhancing one’s own awareness, knowledge, and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion

Assesses inquiries and requests, identifies non-standard inquiries, or at-risk behavior and triages appropriately

Acts as a resource for faculty and staff on SISC, OAMS, and Degree Navigator

Makes website updates, updates student materials, writes and sends communications to students as needed

Participates in the development, implementation, and documentation of operational policies and procedures

At least 6 years of recent experience as a teacher, administrator or education consultant in a K- 12 school environment.

Successful completion of six years of academic/professional training including possession of a Master’s degree in Education

Experience as a Learning Assistance Teacher

Experience in delivering and interpreting Level B assessment is an asset

Modeling Interpersonal Skills and Personal Responsibility

Proficiency with Aspen (MyEd BC) is an asset
