Student And Program Advisor Jobs

Perform other duties related to the qualifications and requirements of the position

3 years experience or involvement in the student conduct process in post-secondary educational environments

Experience in adjudicating, investigating misconduct, student conduct cases, and knowledge and practice of student development theory

Proactively respond to student requests, provide recommendations and identify opportunities to enhance student resiliency and problem-solving skills

Provide outreach to the campus community regarding student rights and responsibilities

Create and conduct student workshop sessions regarding the Student Rights & Responsibilities and topics related to non-academic student conduct

Experience working in a post-secondary environment in project management or program development is preferred.

Experience in the designing and delivering educational workshops and managing large events.

Implements and manages processes for collecting student data and feedback.

Develops and manages budgets for program-specific funding.

Manages special projects assigned by the Associate Director, Student Engagement and Development and the Assistant Dean and Director of Undergraduate Programs.

Knowledge of student development theories.

Experience working in a post-secondary environment in project management or program development is preferred.

Energy Management, Environmental Technician, and Machine Learrning Analyst (STEM Student Advisor)

5+ years of related advising and student support experience in a post-secondary environment.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Proficient knowledge of computer systems, including PeopleSoft and Microsoft Office.

Support the development of objectives and activities based on departmental goals, including both short- and long-range education and outreach plans.

Support the creation of cross-cultural training education and training programs for students.

Manage records, and prepare memos, proposals, reports, papers, and presentation materials.

Minimum one (1) certification(s) in Mental Health response training (e.g. nonviolent crisis intervention training, ASIST, MHFA, SafeTalk, or equivalent) is required.

Knowledge of Google Suite applications and student records systems is considered an asset.

Demonstrated experience in project management with strong administrative and office management skills.

Analyzes need for temporary staff and student staff, determines required skills and abilities.

Coordination of Awards and Financial Management

Demonstrates a commitment to enhancing one’s own awareness, knowledge, and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Knowledge of computer office and educational software and willingness to learn to use new systems.

Excellent judgment and decision-making skills to allow the assessment of needs, available resources and capabilities to resolve issues.

Strong knowledge of post-secondary education programming, environment, policies and procedures
