One years’ recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Grade 12, two (2) years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience

Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).

Broad knowledge of current respiratory theory and practice within a client/family centred model for care.

Broad knowledge of the BCSRT clinical practice guidelines.

Demonstrated skill in the use of medical equipment and supplies appropriate to the clinical area.

Airway management / intubation / airway care

Diploma in Respiratory Therapy required; Equivalent education and experience may be considered.

Demonstrated organizational skills and able to work independently.

Special gas administration e.g. NO, N2

Special team member: High Risk Delivery, Cardiac Arrest, Trauma, PICU, NICU, Air Medical Transport

Conduct various cardiac diagnostic tests such as Electrocardiogram (ECG), stress testing, and Holter Monitoring for analysis and interpretation by medical staff.

Completion of a professional instructional program for teaching or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Plan, implement and evaluate educational programs and equipment.

Consult, confer and collaborate with other health care providers regarding patient’s clinical concerns or requirements.

Four (4) years’ recent, related experience in an acute care setting.

Comprehensive knowledge of organization policies, procedures, and standards of care.

Comprehensive knowledge of respiratory theory and practice within a client and family centred model of care.

Experience, within the last 2 years, providing education and transition for complex care NICU population

Demonstrated knowledge of ventilator requirements for the micropremature population

Valid Basic Life Support Certification

Recent 4 years’ experience in Neonatal ICU

Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal and patient teaching skills, utilizing principles of adult learning theories

Demonstrate the philosophy of Family Centered Care and knowledge of developmental care

Broad knowledge of CSRT standards of practice and clinical practice guidelines.

Broad knowledge of current respiratory care theory and practices within a client/family centred model of care.

Basic knowledge of research process and methodology.

Demonstrated skill in clinical techniques and the use of applicable equipment and supplies.

Demonstrated computer skills including the ability to effectively use a computerized client care information system.

Active membership and in good standing with the Manitoba Association of Registered Respiratory Therapists

Current registration/membership in the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) is preferred

Performs outpatient procedures including bronchoscopies, pediatric exercise challenges, ABG's, care of chronic ventilated patients.

Requisitions supplies and minor equipment for departmental operations within approved budget; maintains area supply inventory.

Maintains documentation by ensuring reports, record and workload statistics are complete and accurate according to established departmental standards.
