Experience training parents/caregivers to implement Behaviour Support Plans using Behaviour Skills Training

Integrating the client into community settings, as appropriate, to promote skill generalization

Collaborating with other professionals, as required for problem solving, goal development and skill generalization;

Supporting staff in development of clinical skills;

Minimum 2 years’ experience delivering ABA programming

Minimum 1 years’ experience engaging in supervising ABA programming under the clinical supervision of a BCBA

Minimum 5 years experience providing individual and group therapies in a mental health setting.

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the applicable policy.

Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention required.

Extensive knowledge of social systems and networks.

Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.

Occupational Therapy - Baccalaureate or Clinical Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy.

Willingness to adapt to new concepts, techniques and best practice in the academic and clinical fields of healthcare and education knowledge.

Recent and relevant clinical experience preferred.

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the WRHA policy.

Must have effective written and verbal communication skills.

Knowledge of the physiological, social, cultural and economic aspects of client care.

Must be able to safely transfer large and/or heavy clients who may have limited or no weight bearing capabilities.

Strong clinical reasoning and caseload management skills

Experience with children and youth with Autism preferred

Ability to work in a changing environment that demands high productivity, organizational skills, and flexibility

Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario

Willingness to participate in a criminal reference screening process

Fluency in French will be considered an asset

A Master’s degree in Social Work or a health-related discipline with a minimum of three years relevant experience is preferred.

Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or relevant field/discipline with extensive and relevant experience will also be considered.

Excellent clinical assessment, formulation, and treatment planning skills is essential.

Training and/or experience in Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy will be considered assets.

Training and experience in working with families in a clinical context will also be considered an asset.

Computer competency and experience working with diverse cultures are considered assets for this position.

Eligible for certification and CTRS credential with National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC).

Comprehensive knowledge of evidence-based Recreation Therapy practice related to applicable program health issues and treatment.

Comprehensive knowledge of theories and concepts of therapeutic recreation, leisure, social psychology and current trends and practice in designated areas.

Comprehensive knowledge of recreation therapy theory and practice within a client/resident and family centred model of care.

Comprehensive knowledge of organizing therapeutic recreation services including the development of a written plan or operation.

Comprehensive knowledge of other health care disciplines and their role in client/resident care.

Graduate from an approved School of Respiratory Therapy Program, accredited by the Council on Accreditation for Respiratory Therapy Education

Active membership and in good standing with the Manitoba Association of Registered Respiratory Therapists
