Therapist Jobs

Position open in Alberta for a part-time, contract therapist at Birth Narratives Counselling. We are looking for a therapist with a specialization in perinatal mental health and trauma.

Responsibilities

• Carry own liability insurance, registration, access to a computer, email, and a confidential space to work in
• Provide virtual and phone therapy for Clients who need perinatal mental health counselling in Alberta

Qualifications

• Registration and in good standing with the ACSW
• Experience working with new parents
• Knowledge in the areas of: postpartum depression, loss, postpartum psychosis, parenting, NICU experiences, infertility, postpartum OCD, anxiety, and birth trauma
• Registered as RCSW in Alberta an asset
• MSW degree
• Training in mental health and trauma therapies (CBT, DBT, EMDR
• Understanding of rural areas and their needs an asset
• Ability to screen for and support Clients with suicidal ideation and psychosis if needed
