Therapist Jobs

Our Valley Art Therapy team is growing! We are currently adding a trauma therapist as the newest member of our team to provide in-person services for individual and group therapy (children, adolescents, families) at Valley Art Therapy’s Birtle office, Russell office, and/or at our in-community locations. Clinical supervision and clinic management duties combine to create the ideal position for the experienced and energetic therapist ready to engage their creativity and take on new challenges.

Position may be full or part time.

Salary and schedule to be determined based on the successful applicant.

Start date is negotiable, but could begin immediately.

Qualifications:

• Specialized training/experience in at least one of the following therapeutic modalities: Art Therapy, Play Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, EMDR, Internal Family Systems, and/or Somatic Experiencing
• Master’s degree in counselling, social work, or related field
• 5+ years of successful experience in the field

Requirements:

-Professional membership and liability insurance

-Experience working with children, adolescents, and families

-Experience working with clients of diverse cultural backgrounds

-Experience with assessing clients’ needs and clinical report writing

-Experienced in providing clinical supervision

-Knowledgeable in the areas of trauma, attachment, Polyvagal Theory, decolonization

-Innovative, collaborative, excellent interpersonal skills

-Successful criminal record check and vulnerable sector verification

Valley Art Therapy is a rural group practice that facilitates healing and thriving through art, play, and somatic-focused therapies, and that is dedicated to providing increased accessibility to therapy for residents of our local communities. Our team consists of Canadian Certified Counsellors, art therapists, and practicum students/interns. Our Valley Art Therapy office is located in Birtle, Manitoba, with a second office space in Russell, Manitoba.
