Senior Mechanical Project Engineer Jobs in Ontario

Knowledge of the design, fabrication, and installation of heavy mechanical equipment

5 or more years of experience in a municipal or similar public sector engineering environment

Proven ability to manage in a team environment and to supervise technical professionals

Excellent communication skills (written and spoken) in English; ability to write and present complex data to non-professionals

Ability to manage multiple project responsibilities concurrently.

Manage the technical interface between project stakeholders

Identify specific resources to perform scheduled activities with functional managers.

Ensure technical and quality requirements are understood and met by engineering functions.

Minimum of 10 years of experience working with customers, regulators and suppliers.

Minimum of 10 years of experience working in a regulated environment

Initiate, manage and if required supervise mechanical engineering project requirements.

Ensure the project scope is clear and that changes comply with project change management processes;

A sound knowledge of the fundamental requirements of the mechanical engineering, and the basic requirements of other engineering fields.

A sound knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements.

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training

Ensure all engineering and design work performed adjusts to quality, cost and schedule requirements.

Experience with mechanical systems such as but not limited to:

Manage external contractors and audit all studies and recommendations

Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized college or university required

Licensed professional engineer in the Province of Ontario, or ability to obtain one

Minimum of 5-years in manufacturing environment in North America

Familiar with industry standards, codes and regulations as applicable to manufacturing environment

-Experience with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes and Standards including preparation of design calculations

-3-D modeling in AutoDesk Inventor

-highly proficient with verbal & written English

-ability to work on multiple projects with tight deadlines

-assist as required with Quality Assurance issues

-problem solve conflicts between drawings, specifications and contractual issues

Submit drawings to upper management and project teams

Must have experience designing industry or consumer-specific products (food or kitchen equipment is an asset)

5+ years of experience in engineering role

Shop floor experience in customer fabrication

Working knowledge of CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, plastic molding, welding, coating, customer gasket, and other trades

Strong computer and mathematical skills

Have a Can-Do attitude with the ability to manage multi discipline projects. Broad knowledge of industrial standards

With a minimum of 5 years of project engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, heavy industrial preferred.

With a minimum of 1 year experience in relatively high-speed manufacturing and robotics is a plus

Must have a working knowledge of hydraulic design, machine design and troubleshooting

Registered Professional Engineer in Ontario, other provinces/states a benefit;

Knowledge of CEMA standards, Building Codes, CSA standards, and ASHRAE standards;

Relevant experience in the design of HVAC, dust collection, material handling and / or pumping and piping systems in Canada;

Project experience in mills, smelters, mines, industrial sites, infrastructure, refinery, ports, material handling, pulp and paper is beneficial
