Senior Project Engineer Jobs

Summary
The Senior Project Engineer will direct and coordinate the engineering and design of assigned project scope along with technical aspects of the contract. They will coordinate timely decision making on project technical issues relying on internal technical authorities as necessary. They will also establish & manage the technical interface between all parties involved in the project including engineers, customers, and subcontractors.

Essential Responsibilities

• Identify probability and impacts of technical risks.
• Develop overall engineering work plans by coordinating planning efforts among individual engineering functions to meet defined project objectives.
• Define engineering detailed Work Breakdown Structure to ensure all engineering scope is defined.
• Coordinate resolution of technical and quality issues between disciplines.
• Communicate recommendations to PM for risk contingency. Develop and implement mitigation strategies for technical risks.
• Elaborate project scope as needed to form detailed work packages.
• Monitor engineering cost performance against estimates and intervenes with engineering functions to address performance issues.
• Ensure technical and quality requirements are understood and met by engineering functions.
• Identify specific resources to perform scheduled activities with functional managers.
• Coordinate with engineering functions to provide hour and duration estimates for engineering activities.
• Manage the technical interface between project stakeholders
• Lead engineering functions in developing engineering schedule baseline and holds functions accountable to baseline finish dates by monitoring performance metrics.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of experience working in a regulated environment
• Minimum of 10 years of experience working with customers, regulators and suppliers.
• Bachelor's Degree of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university.
• Professional Engineering designation is required
