Post-secondary education in a related field or an equivalent level of education and experience

Demonstrated understanding of safety management systems for aviation organizations

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to interact professional with individuals at all levels of the organization

Sound knowledge of the applicable regulations including OHSA, Human Rights, Labour Relations and ESA

University degree or equivalent experience (nice to have degree or certification in adult training and development).

Experience in working with and building digital knowledge and learning documentation

Strong influencing skills as well as being highly flexible and adaptable to differing audiences and circumstances.

Strong presentation and communication skills.

Strong facilitation and coaching skills.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects and produce learning solutions in a specified timeframe and budget.

Five (5) Years management experience in a safety and training /or occupational health & safety role, or training preferably in transportation

Works with staff and management to develop a proactive approach to safety problems while fostering positive employee relationships and morale

Sets the tone for ensuring all operators are current with training requirements of the company and client contract

Oversees corporate safety incentives and programs are managed effectively and consistently

Experience working in Health & Safety management, or proven knowledge of relevant Health & Safety regulations

Work experience and knowledge of UBC policies and procedures, Building Operations, and Risk Management Services

Develops and implements facility management policies and procedures to ensure that EECE facilities are properly maintained

Recommends additional training to staff as required in order to meeting safety requirements.

Research technology, legislated training requirements and individual and group training plans.

Minimum three (3) years experience with the development, implementation, and delivery of driver training.

Must be able to obtain Ministry of Transportation Signing Authority and Airbrake Instructor certifications within 6 months of hire.

Knowledge of applicable Legislation, Acts and Standards.
