Recent (1 year) experience in applying adult learning principles

Demonstrated advanced critical thinking, assessment, planning, evaluation & coordination skills in a fast paced

Knowledge of and the ability to work in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team

Knowledge and demonstrated competencies in Patient and Family Centered Care

Ability and knowledge to access hospital resources

Demonstrated teamwork, organizational skills, problem-solving and conflict management skills

Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification

Minimum two (2) years recent experience in a pediatric setting

Current pediatric critical care experience preferred

Demonstrated knowledge of pediatric growth and development

Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills, especially in stressful situations

Demonstrated interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills

EPIC hospital information system experience preferred

Graduate of an accredited program in Respiratory Therapy

Current Registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario

Successful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care (CBRC) exam

Excellent knowledge of RT practice.

Two (2) years current critical care experience would be a definite asset.

Care and management of mechanically ventilated patients in community

Management and care of patients with tracheostomies or laryngectomies

Computer experience and keyboarding skills on a lap top computer

Current BCLS certification required; ACLS and PALS certification an asset

Certification as a Certified Respiratory Educator (CRE) or Certified COPD Educator (CCE) an asset

A minimum of 2 years of work experience in an acute care setting; additional experience in community an asset

Minimum of 1 year experience.

Perform routine pulmonary function testing, including, but not limited to: Full Screen, Pre and Post Assessment, Spirometry, and Provocation Testing.

The assessment, education, treatment and rehabilitation of patients with respiratory dysfunction;

The promotion of respiratory health;

Communicating and demonstrating community and hospital based respiratory care procedures to other health care professionals and students; and

The use of respiratory equipment or special procedures.
