Residence Dining Manager Jobs

A minimum of 5 years of experience in conflict management, counselling, mediation, customer service and handling difficult and potentially litigious situations.

Experience in project management, continuous improvement, and change management.

Experience in a higher education setting and knowledge of personal, social, academic, and systemic barriers impacting a student’s success.

Master’s in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Education, Administration or a related field, or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience analyzing, interpreting, and applying policies, procedures, regulations, and provisions of collective agreements.

Knowledge of student life, student development theory and life in residence.

Manage and direct food production planning, waste management, record keeping, follow up, and modification based on business volumes

Meet daily with the Manager and Chef to discuss operational and staffing concerns

Proactively manage food and labor cost controls

Resolve customer complaints as they arise, escalating to the Manager as necessary.

Fill in for the Residence Dining Manager when required

A minimum of 1-3 years supervisory experience, preferably in a food service environment

Develops appropriate departmental objectives for the home with the assistance of the management staff.

Ensures all personnel and medical records are maintained in compliance with legal and corporation requirements.

Recommends to regional manager, changes in administrative policies to carry out the objectives of the corporation.

Hires, trains, and supervises all department managers and conducts regular staff meetings.

Meets with prospective residents and their families and conducts tours in the absence of the marketing manager and/or marketing assistant.

Attends and participates regional administrator/ general manager meetings.

• Knowledge and experience of communications and management principles including monitoring and reporting analytics

• Demonstrated experience and management of changing landscapes of communication/marketing channels and acquisition of retention of customers

• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines, manage multiple projects

The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:

• Excellent communication skills and good judgement

• Knowledge of relevant governing legislation, collective agreements, policies and procedures

Managing all aspects of lock hardware and software management in Residence;

Administering effective inventory management processes and practices;

Provide regular feedback, follow up on areas for improvement and manage performance issues;

In collaboration with other Residence Managers, conduct fire drills & resident safety training exercises as required;

3-5 years of relevant experience leading and managing staff, ideally in a unionized environment in a service field or student residence

Manage the day-to-day operations of the food services, includes delegating tasks, motivating, and coaching employees as required.

Manage staff related issues such as vacation requests, progressive discipline, and other operational concerns as they arise.
