Project Controls Officer Jobs in Ontario

Knowledge of or familiarity with principal field business management systems: SAP, CMIS, PMIS and Prolog (P.O. and A/P) preferred

Analyzes and effectively communicates financial results of the project to upper level management

Manages the division of responsibilities and communication between various project & home office departments

7 - 10 + years of financial/data analysis experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, and/or an equivalent degree is require

Strong working knowledge of accounting including: general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and tax

Five (5) to 10 years of experience in project controls, project planning, or a related field

Knowledge of Primavera and project scheduling is required

Experience with SAP Project Systems and billing sales orders is required

Knowledge of project flow and critical path activities.

Experience with project execution and project planning – direct experience in water treatment preferred

Able to work in a matrix organization and has proven collaboration skills

Train the project team on how to implement and maintain the prescribed change management procedures.

Provide Aecon management team with all the required project controls summary reports and analyses.

Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and employees.

Assist the project manager in preparing project monthly reports and forecasting.

Good knowledge of the “Earned Value” principles.

Strong computer skills - MS Office, MS Access, SAP and Power BI Applications

Perform stakeholder management to ensure sound project controls principles, processes and procedures are upheld

Employ Earned Value Management principles in project tracking and reporting

Manage project activities in P6, integrating vendor activities as required

5 year of relevant working experience

Facilitate and establish project baseline plans

Support project progression through phased gates

Provides appropriate customer support relationships with Project Managers and Senior Managers (e.g., Finance and Pre-Construction) in Operations, Construction and Engineering.

Undergraduate degree in Engineering or equivalent education and experience

Provides monthly project accruals and forecasts to Finance.

Identifies cost and schedule issues and risks to the Project Manager and suggests action plans.

10-12 years’ active, relevant, and applicable experience

Experience and ability to use the following:

Detailed knowledge of scheduling methods, cost control processes, risk management procedures

Team building, staff management and mentoring skills.

Management of the project controls staff assigned to the projects.

Make recommendations on change notices in compliance with best practice change management techniques.

Demonstrated experience working and/or managing the project controls functions with hands on experience on the following:

Demonstrated experience developing and managing project metrics including but not limited to earned value, CPI, SPI

Strong writing skills with a proven track record of developing quality project reports and documents

Experience working with programs focused on climate change and/or youth

Knowledge of global climate change discourse and issues

Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and shifting environment
