Planning Scheduling Technician Jobs

Provides overall project schedule, progress measurement, and change management leadership and expertise

Analyze progress, schedule trends, and develop forecasts to support management decision making

Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Construction Management

Ensure that contractor schedule reflects / align with external schedule requirements and interfaces such as permitting and regulatory

Prior oil and gas industry experience preferred

Experience in Project Controls, Project Services and/or Planning/Scheduling

Hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management (minimum requirement).

Recommended to have Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.

Assist in front-end planning and prepare reports for management support.

Evaluate contractor schedules, assess contractor's scheduling capabilities, and ensure compliance with contract requirements.

Have a minimum of 10 years of experience in scheduling and planning brownfield projects at Oil & Gas industry facilities.

Possess certification in Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling, Gantt Charts, and resource planning using scheduling software (e.g., Primavera).

Proficiency with MS Office programs, Outlook, faxing software, and database management

Accountable for goal setting, performance management and reviews for 5 IPL employees and for 5-15 Contract or contingent workers

Manage attrition and succession for all employees and contractor resources to align with business needs

10+ years of leadership experience

Hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management (minimum requirement).

Familiarity with environmental assessment requirements and legislation, including the Planning Act, Provincial Policy Statement, and Local planning processes

Experience with site plan approvals and plan of subdivision/condominium processes will be considered an asset

Knowledge of the development industry and the land development approval process, and municipal planning policy

Strong communication, writing, organization and interpersonal skills

Proficiency with MS Office programs, Outlook, faxing software, and database management

Work schedule Monday – Friday, 800am – 430pm, 35 hour work week

$44.44 per hour, Pay Grade 13

This is a CUPE Local 50 Position

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in AutoCAD

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in drafting and concept, site, and plan design and preparation

Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office suite of programs

Knowledge and experience in Adobe programs (i.e. Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) an asset

1-3 years of professional experience in a Planning Technician role in public or private sector

Base, concept and plan preparation in AutoCAD

A minimum of 6 months related experience, preferably within a BC local government setting.

Experience in surveying, land development, customer service, and negotiation is an asset.

A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence

Degree level education or technical certificate (Project Management, Commercial, Construction or other relevant discipline).

Proficient understanding and experience of Safety and Environmental legislation, practices and policies and Contract Management

A skilled Change Agent with the ability to successfully manage & resolve conflicts when they arise.

Schedules conform to Drax’s Project Controls and Schedule Management processes and procedures
