Working knowledge of payroll software platforms like Ceridian Dayforce, ADP Workforce, Sage 50 etc.

Working knowledge of Kronos/Oracle R12 System for HR, Time / Labor and General Ledger

Excellent problem solving / judgement skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy

Working experience of payroll tax at the federal, state and local levels

Excellent organization skills, ability to handle multiple priorities within deadlines is required

PCP/CPM is considered a mandatory requirement.

An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills together with proven experience in resolving conflict and ability to work in stressful situations.

Reporting and monitoring of payroll and benefits costs

Five years of progressive experience in payroll, preferably in a unionized environment.

Extensive knowledge of payroll regulations and issues of compliance.

Demonstrated ability to model appropriate professional, ethical, and collaborative behaviors consistent with the responsibilities of this position.

Strong knowledge of payroll systems, internal controls, and management

Minimum of five years' working experience in a payroll capacity

Your experience and skills include:

Manage vacation entitlements and accruals in accordance with GAAP, the Collective Agreement and Company vacation policy.

Prepare balance sheet reconciliations related to all payroll and benefit accounts.

Assist with payroll queries from employees and managers.

Minimum seven (7) years of experience in payroll administration and benefits management including 1 to 3 years of managerial experience

Collaborate with external vendors, brokers, and insurers to ensure efficient benefits administration, plan renewals, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Set objectives, monitor team performance, provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring, and oversee overall process management and performance for the Payroll team.

In-depth knowledge of Canadian payroll regulations, employment standards, and tax requirements.

Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and additional employee perks.

Oversee open enrollment periods and provide employees with information and guidance on benefit options.
