Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor Jobs in Nova Scotia

Responsible to develop and control work instructions and procedures for the assembly and test of equipment.

Responsible to implement Customer and internally generated changes using the Engineering Change Process.

Responsible for setup and maintenance of bills of materials within ERP system

Responsible to plan and implement new production areas with emphasis on lean manufacturing practices.

Responsible to lead continuous improvement teams and/or Kaizen events

Responsible to investigate assembly and manufacturing related problems and ensure the problem is resolved.

Strong Interpersonal skills / working with others to find a solution

Coordinate the daily activities of the production and operation staff.

Maintains staff by assisting in the recruitment process; selecting, orienting, and training staff; developing personal growth opportunities

Initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments

Ensures operating of equipment by arranging repair work or replacement of tools and supplies

Maintains a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing staff on the use of equipment and resources

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Requirements

Problem solving skills and abilities

Assist in planning of daily and weekly production schedules and staffing requirements

Inspect all machinery for cleanliness, safety requirements and proper set up prior to production

Complete and offer suggestions for improvement of all manufacturing and packaging documentation

Work in compliance with the company’s Health & Safety Policies/SOPs including but not limited to the Safety Responsibilities Procedure

You have a good knowledge of engineering design, development, certification and manufacturing processes and the requirements used in the aerospace industry.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas are highly desirable:

Present project status updates to the management team and externally to various stake holders.

You have at least 4 years of experience managing TCCA certification projects to obtain STC and PDA/RDA approvals.

The primary job duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Undertake and manage the engineering activities within the MBA business.

Five years experience in metal fabrication and welding.

Experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably heavy metal manufacturing).

Working knowledge of welding procedures, general manufacturing principles, and material properties.

General knowledge of NDE Testing and ASME codes.

Excellent communication skills as well as computer skills (CAD, CAM, MS Word, Excel).
