Manager Housekeeping Services Jobs

• 3 years of related experience at a leadership level

• Industry specific certifications such as Housekeeping Room Attendant (i.e. emerit) and Tourism Supervisor (i.e. emerit)

• Excellent communication and customer service skills

• Strong problem resolution skills and conflict resolution skills

• Experience forecasting and budgeting

• Creates and implements a departmental plan and measurable objectives for the Housekeeping department

Plus a minimum three (3) recent related experience in a healthcare environment; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Working knowledge of applicable regulations, legislation and collective agreements.

Administrate housekeeping service staff by coordinating recruitment and hiring, establishing schedules, work assignments and training and orientation

Promotes sound interdepartmental relations through effective communication

Coordinates the implementation of new polices and procedures and provides input into the development of Housekeeping Services

Ensure all staff is properly trained and has the tools and equipment needed to effectively carry out their respective job duties.

Report to Rooms Division Manager and General Manager.

· Min. 1-2 year hotel housekeeping supervisor/leadership experience in limited/full service hotel setting is a must.

· Lightspeed PMS experience an asset.

Monitor, coordinate and execute the special needs and requests of VIP, repeat guests, groups and elite members with Marriott Bonvoy.

Respond to guest complaints and special requests, and ensure corrective action is taken to achieve complete guest satisfaction.

Ensures any revenue-based services within the portfolio are operated in a cost-effective manner.

On an on-going basis, plans, implements, and evaluates programs related to Housekeeping and where applicable, Laundry Services.

Participates in regional, portfolio, and provincial committees as required.

Interprets and administers collective agreements. Provides input into site-wide budget requirements, monitors expenditures, and provides analysis reports to the Manager.

Participates in committees and meetings involving clients, contractors and residents/patients and other stakeholders, as designated by the Manager.

Demonstrated ability to lead, plan, manage, implement, organize and problem solve.

Working knowledge of applicable regulations, legislation and collective agreements.

Implement the day-to day operations of housekeeping services for an assigned site and /or site-wide facilities/building.

Superior time management and organizational skills.

Minimum 3 years housekeeping experience with a minimum of 2 years in a direct supervisory or management role in hotels.

Monitor and manage labor efficiencies and all other departmental costs.

Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on leadership ability.

Knowledge of health and safety standards.

Physical stamina and mobility including ability to reach, kneel and bend

Have knowledge and experience with infection control and an interest in expanding the infection control procedures

Bachelor’s degree preferred or combined equivalent of education and experience

Have at least two years of experience managing a team
