Approximately 3 – 5 years of relevant experience at a public accounting firm

Experience working with accounting and tax software such as CaseWare and TaxPrep

Understand the client’s industry and recognize key performance drivers, business trends, and emerging technical and industry developments

Analyze test results, summarize details and advise internal audit management of conclusions, audit findings, and potential areas for process improvements.

Monitor regulatory developments that may impact ICOFR and assist internal audit management in implementing program changes to meet industry best practices.

University Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting or related qualification

Minimum 4 years experience managing an audit process, techniques and associated professional standards

Experience and/or exposure working in operational and financial auditing, including: audit program preparation, business process risk assessment, and internal control evaluation.

Previous experience working for a large to mid-size audit / accounting firm would be considered an asset;

Collaborate with partners and senior management to develop and implement audit methodologies, tools, and best practices.

Extensive experience (typically 5+ years) in auditing within a public accounting firm, with progressively increasing responsibilities.

Lead and manage audit engagements, including planning, execution, and completion, while adhering to professional auditing standards and firm guidelines.

Manage client relationships, address inquiries, and identify opportunities to expand services, contributing to business development efforts.

Strong knowledge of accounting standards and regulations (such as ASPE, IFRS, or other applicable frameworks).

Develop and maintain productive relationships with client management throughout the year.

Maintain an educational program to continually develop skills. Maintain cooperative relationships with other engagement teams.

Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience working as an auditor manager

Use technology to continually learn, share knowledge with team members, and enhance service delivery.

Understand EY and its service lines and actively assess/present ways to apply knowledge and services.

Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience working as an auditor for a public accounting firm

Ability to work with all levels of staff and management.

Provide process improvement recommendations for review and consideration based on their experience and exposure to the audit processes and programs.

Excellent written and communication skills.

This position is 18 hours a week (part-time) with no benefits.

Research and gather data and information in preparation for audits or other reviews/projects.

Assist in reviewing, organizing, and documenting data and information gathered during all phases of an audit, review, or special project.

Project Management skills in order to lead teams on projects

Time management and organizational skills in order to efficiently multi-task and prioritize among many demands

Solid knowledge of advanced accounting concepts and principles

Strong knowledge of commodity taxes

Analytical skills necessary for detailed analyses

Leads preparation of the monthly and annual audited financial statements and the related supporting schedules

Excellent project management and analytical skills

Constantly optimize scheduling to improve resource management, auditor training initiatives and audit quality

Support the auditor management, such as auditor currency/recency tracking and scheduling of trainings

University degree in Business Administration or similar discipline, or equivalent experience and qualifications would be an advantage

Conduct in-depth schedule manipulation and analysis to support requirements, as well as determine optimal audit plans and contingencies

4-6 years’ experience in scheduling, planning and administration experience within aviation or a similar industry

A university degree in relevant field, or equivalent experience and qualifications.

Working knowledge of safety audit principles, the IOSA Program, and ICAO/EASA/FAA requirements.

5+ years’ experience in airline operations including safety, auditing, quality control and assurance, and compliance.

Excellent writing and presentation skills in English are essential. Other languages would be an advantage

Strong analytical and communication skills.

In-depth knowledge of MS Office suite.

What You Need To Know

Demonstrate strong planning, project management and organizational skills

Perform regular follow up with action plan owners to ensure management’s timely completion of remedial action plans

Prepare formal audit/review reports and communicate audit findings and recommendations to all levels of IT Management and leadership clearly and concisely

Undergraduate Degree in an Information Technology related field such as IT Systems, Computer Science, IT Management or Data Analytics.

Experience auditing large enterprise IT implementations with knowledge of project methodologies, risks and controls

Work collaboratively with a dynamic team to maintain internal compliance systems and execute on general audit risk management projects.

Maintain up-to-date documentation of risk management processes and various monitoring controls to ensure they continue to operate effectively.

Assist in preparing risk management guidance and training materials for system end-users and as part of the annual QPR program.

Provide support on a scheduled and ad-hoc basis to audit risk management teams.

Post-secondary education in a relevant field or equivalent work experience

Proven track record of teambuilding, relationship management, and dealing effectively with Senior Management.

Knowledge in Opera or other Hotel Property Management Systems required.

Previous supervisory/management experience is a critical asset.

Degree/Diploma in Hospitality Management preferred.

Manage the performance of the Night Audit team through effective training and guidance of procedures and assisting staff with problem solving.

Assist the Front Office Manager in training new employees and coaching existing employees.

Assist the Front Office Manager in managing the performance of all members of the Night Audit Team.

Delegates effectively and contributes to a motivated and empowered work team. Shares and transfers knowledge within the team.

5+ years of experience in a public accounting environment

1+ year experience in reviewing files prepared by staff members

Experience with Canadian corporate taxes

Strong knowledge of Caseware, Caseview, MS Office (Excel and Word) & Taxprep

Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting and assurance engagement standards

Experience and knowledge with all aspects of IT, corporate accounting, internal audit, and financial management.

Present audit findings to senior management, executives, and external auditors.

Provide oversight, direction, and skills development of Senior IT Auditors.

Post-Secondary Education in Accounting or Commerce.

Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley internal controls, IT COBIT framework, and COSO internal controls integrated framework.

ERP experience with NetSuite and Workday an asset.

· Strong oral and written communication skills, including experience writing reports
