Library Branch Assistant Jobs in Ontario

Retrieve, sort, and deliver daily mail and faxes for Faculty of Education;

A minimum of two (2) years experience in a library setting;

Knowledge of Library of Congress classification system;

Versatile knowledge in Library operations;

Experience working with the integrated library system (Omni);

Knowledgeable about the Ontario curriculum;

Some library experience and post-secondary education would be an asset.

Effective interpersonal skills are essential in dealing with the staff and public.

Effective written and oral skills in English are essential.

Provides reference and readers' advisory.

Assists with and may conduct programs.

Provides circulation services, including cash handling.

Following up on outstanding New Issue tickets and escalating to management as required

Completing all non online account management (OAM) functions including address changes and shareholder communication information

Encouraging the generation of new ideas and approaches Actively sharing knowledge and experience to enhance the development of all team members

Manage all banking functions by:

Manage all name and address functions by:

Minimum of one (1) year experience in a management role;

Good time management and prioritization skills;

Assist the Branch Manager with monthly Health & Safety audits;

Assist the Branch Manager in employee communications.

Carry out, with the Branch Manager, quarterly evaluations of hourly employees;

Support the Branch Manager in the process of recruiting, welcoming and integrating new employees;

Excellent problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills.

Experience with Microsoft Office programs and AS400 is an asset.

Product knowledge of the industry is required.
