Cnc Lathe Machinist Programmer Jobs

Minimum 3 years of working experience as a Lathe Operator on a manual and or DMG Lathe

Mechanical adjustments as they arise

Requires daily onsite attendance; this is not a remote-work position.

Prior experience with set up and operation of CNC machining centers (vertical, horizontal rotary attachments)

Experience must be with CNC machines (Mills & Lathes)

Measure, mark and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining.

Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills and lathes.

Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust machine controls.

Prior experience in programming is a requirement

Experience with a wood router CNC machine is a requirement

Carpentry/woodworking experience is a requirement

Ability to read and program machine from door hardware drawings is a requirement

Woodwop software experience is an asset

Willingness to pursue additional training to enhance job skills

3+ years' experience required for junior positions.

10+ years' experience required for senior positions.

Certificate of qualification, college degree or other training in CNC machining an asset.

Fanuc or Haas experience a must.

Previous jobbing shop experience preferred.

Set-up and operate 3 and 4-axis CNC vertical milling machines.

Monitor and maintain equipment as per maintenance requirements.

Adhere to all Health and Safety, and Environmental requirements.

5+ years of experience as a machinist

Experience in the trade and some college or industry courses in machining.

Must be deemed competent by Journeyman if not completed certification

Solidwork experience and HAAS programming expertise

Establish cutting standards based on knowledge of cutting tool geometry and machine capabilities.

Project schedule and Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA) knowledge.

7-10 years of relevant experience

Experience with Siemens NX (Unigraphics) and Vericut.

Knowledge of cutting tools and their application.

Knowledge of machining concepts beginning at 3-axis NC and increasing in complexity to a 5-axis NC using CAD type programs.

Must have atleast 5 years of MasterCam programming experience to toolpath for three axis, three +two axes and five-axis milling.

Must have experience with HAAS 3 and 5 Axis milling CNC (VF5, VF4, Mini mill) and machining processes.

Must possess organizational skills and follow procedure while continuing to improve processes.

Assist in automating 5-axis tool pathing processes/dynamic toolpath using template and other mastercam tools.

Responsible for efficiently setting up and running CNC machines to produce machine components in tight tolerances.

Ability to efficiently toolpath for steel, aluminum, polyurethane and other metals to effectively produce tight tolerances for high-quality parts.

Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering or similar preferred;

Experience required with custom millwork programming (6 years+)

Able to work proficiently with mm (metric) and knowledgeable in Imperial

Knowledge of AWMAC is an asset

Create Microvellum models based on shop drawings

Create Solid works/SWOOD models based on shop drawings

Machine knowledge and basic maintenance capabilities.
