One of our automotive clients is looking for CNC Machinist in Guelph, ON for their facility.

Shift - Days

Duties & Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the following, Gantry/Bridge Mill & TOS Horizontal Boring Mill
• Read machining drawings in metric and standard.
• Experience with complex set-ups and use of overhead crane.
• Machining of higher complexity parts with a wide range of different materials
• Able to optimize CNC Programs, feeds and speeds.
• Ability to work to tight tolerances and have excellent understanding of technical drawings.
• Ability to identify, select, prepare and set cutting tools.
• Challenged daily in working with large complex & fabricated components, where material variation and conditions require an analytical approach to machining of product.
• Verify CNC programs
• Ability to read and understand manual CNC programs that will allow you to modify and edit.
• Prove out of CNC Programs and first part run offs.
• Perform first off inspection of machined parts to ensure part compliance.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Completion of High School/High School Diploma or equivalent
• General machinist certification an asset.
• Must have experience with CNC "CUSTOM - ONE OFF" machining of large fabrications, consisting of machine setup & Operation of CNC Boring Mills
• Must have experience working as a Journeyman Machinist
• Ability to read & interpret blue prints, drawings, charts & tables.
• Motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Practise safe work procedures and follow all health & safety regulations
• Experience working in a custom fabrication and machine shop
• Strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail.
• Excellent programming knowledge of Heidenhain Controls.
