Working with Risk Management maintain the statement of values for owed properties and equipment

Manage direct reports including: selection, orientation, training and development, performance management, succession planning and compensation

Manage and direct geo tech and environmental requirements

Manage National capital expenditures in conjunction with facility leads

Maintain a clean and safe work environment as per company requirements

Manage the implementation of sustainable initiative to support national ESG goals

• Experience with project management tools and systems (MS Project, Primavera), is a plus.

• Other responsibilities as assigned.

• EIT Certification a plus.

• Experience in construction of energy facilities or renewable energy industry is a plus.

• Experience designing with Auto Cad.

• Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, continuous commitment to safe operations.

Researches previous construction projects and provides analysis on relevant data pertaining to new construction project for the Manager/Project Manager.

Demonstrated knowledge of construction practices, design, estimating of construction contracts, survey procedures and layout for interpretation in the field.

Working knowledge of the Region’s Housing design guidelines and standards, Ontario Provincial standards and all applicable regulatory legislation.

Knowledge and demonstrated ability in corporate core competencies including customer focus, communication, collaboration and personal ownership.  

Reviews and evaluates constructability of proposed alternatives including staged construction, environmental constraints, etc. 

Monitors construction schedule quality and quantity control, safety procedures, compliance to contract documents and contract changes.

Bachelor’s degree or diploma from a recognized university, college or technical institute in engineering, construction management, or comparable specialty

Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and requirements, and quality control processes

Manage superintendents, labour force and subcontractors

Ensure compliance with the project requirements

Coordinate access requirements between overlapping subcontractors

Combination of contractor side and owner side experience considered an asset

• Works primarily in the office with Project Architects, Project Managers and Principals.

• Coordination and assignment of Shop Drawing and submittal reviews with the Project Manager and consultants.

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Architectural or Construction Technology or a related field is an asset.

• Assists in the production of Addendum and tender correspondence.

• Meeting attendance and recording Meeting Minutes.

• Electronic filing and document control for project correspondence, shop drawings, submittals, and Operations and Maintenance(O&M) Manuals.

3 years of construction management experience

Strong in Project Management skills and has ability to manage in multi project environment.

University Degree in Engineering desirable if the incumbent has post graduation in Engineering Construction Management or related field.

10 years of total experience

7 years of experience in construction of petrochemical or in an industrial environment

Have knowledge about various standards.
