Junior Gis Technologist Jobs

Work with a talented team of digital services professionals to solve data management challenges across various environmental and engineering disciplines

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including GIS, Environmental Data Management, IT, and consulting professionals

Provide expert operational support to our people and clients regarding spatial data management, geodatabases, and GIS

Proficient in the data management lifecycle, relational databases, and extract-transform-load (ETL) concepts

Help our clients manage their projects by developing web mapping applications

Oversee and manage Matrix's ArcGIS spatial data infrastructure

Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and organizational skills

Industrial Control System (PLC and/or HMI) programming experience.

Computer skills including networking, software installation, driver installation and support.

An understanding of power and control requirements for motors and instrumentation in differing industrial area classifications.

Should have minimum basic knowledge of PLCs

Knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives operation and setup.

Working experience in the creation and management of enterprise geospatial databases

Supporting the GIS team in spatial analysis and data management

Creating and management of enterprise geospatial databases

Advanced Diploma in GIS or a combination of demonstrated GIS experience and post-secondary education

Minimum of two years of experience working in a professional environment (need not be GIS-related)

Strong cartographic skills including the ability to adhere to standards and communicate highly complex information in an accessible and attractive manner

Assist with design calculations, report writing, project coordination and management, cost estimates, preparation of tender documents, specifications and contract administration;

Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience

Working knowledge of Arc GIS

Preferred to have working knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D

Strong communication and technical writing skills

Support documentation process for projects including technical specifications, tender documents, technical reports, and project calculations

0-4 years industry experience in engineering or with an end-user.

Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel and Word).

Prepare electrical, instrumentation, and controls designs/drawings.

Read and interpret P&IDs for electrical and instrumentation design purposes.

Participate in on-site information gathering, and construction and commissioning support.

10+ years’ experience working with Geospatial technologies with emphasis on analyzing and editing spatial data in an enterprise GIS environment.

Proven GIS analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly learn new concepts/processes.

This work will be performed on-site and remotely at head office - Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
