General Maintenance Handyman Jobs

General knowledge/understanding of building systems, including controls, HVAC, mechanical and electrical is an asset.

WHMIS - Dangerous Goods Certification required.

3 years of relevant work experience is a considered an asset.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Teams.

Key Responsibilities (including But Not Limited To)

Light Maintenance work. (Shelving, toilet paper holder install, medicine cabinets etc.)

All work is in Hi-Rise rental apartments.***

You should have excellent customer service skills in ensuring client requests are responded to professionally;

Training & tuition reimbursement programs

Performs light duties: sweeping, general cleaning, painting/patching, garbage removal, snow removal, etc.

Completes basic preventive/demand maintenance tasks; input histories if required

Completes general maintenance of door/window hardware

Various painting responsibilities, interior & exterior

Knowledge of industrial building maintenance such as, minor electrical ,basic mechanical

Minor door repairs and adjustments

Fluorescent Lightning & light lens replacements

Various plumbing repairs and basic installs

Minor Industrial overhead doors P.M’s (preventative maintenance)

Excellent English language communication skills

Plumbing repair/replacement of water fountains, leaky faucets, toilets.

Repair/replacement ceiling tiles, parking lot holes, minor concrete repair, chairs desks.

Painting and patching of walls, ceilings and trim

Repair/replacement of building elements (i.e.: caulking tiles and plumbing fixtures, latches and knobs, clearing roof drains.

Other cleaning duties as needed such as window washing.

Purchase and install access panels

Purchase and install bathroom fixtures

Caulk/fill holes, paint, install fireplace

Baseboard, doors & casing installation, filling and painting

Creating MDF access panels for Electrical panels and/or water meter access

Advises management of corrective actions or preventative actions when necessary

Logs job duties and daily tasks as set forth in documentation requirements

Works closely with the Shift Manager to complete duties and work assignments

Works closely with manager, supervisor and lead

Knows and understands internal policy and external regulatory requirements that relate to the position and department

Maintains any applicable licenses and certifications

Skilled in the use of hand and power tools

Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices

Strong organizational and follow up skills

THIS IS A TEMPORARY ASSIGNMENT (6 MONTHS)

Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment

Handle basic repairs and maintenance

Strong project management, organizational and time management skills.

Proven experience as a Maintenance Worker or similar role.

Solid knowledge of general maintenance and repair techniques

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent problem-solving, analytical and evaluative skills.

Grouping and prioritizing tasks, planning and executing travel routes to visit multiple locations across the lower mainland in an efficient sequence

VCT tile repairs and replacement

Ability to work independently and as a team

Must have a valid driver's license.

Height training is a plus

Knows and understands internal policy and external regulatory requirements that relate to the position and department

Supports Marine, Guest Experience, Safety Services, Food, Beverage & Retail, and all other departments with projects, maintenance and operations as required

Possesses the ability to self-manage on small projects

Works closely with Facilities Shift Manager and/or Manager, Facilities to complete duties and work assignments

Perform routine inspection and maintenance activities and provide feedback to management on deficiencies or repairs needed.

3+ years in a similar role, with commercial cleaning experience being an asset.
