Collaborate with the Senior Financial Analyst in month/quarter/year-end finance and accounting processes

Provide financial analysis and support in the planning process as directed by the Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis

University Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or an equivalent field

2+ years of Financial Analyst experience

Excellent communication skills (written and oral)

Strong computer skills using accounting and possibly financial planning software packages

• Experience with project management and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

o Support Finance department with Quarterly/Yearly External Audit requirements

• Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or equivalent.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial analysis, planning, or similar roles within the retail energy industry or related sectors.

In-depth knowledge of financial principles (GAAP/IFRS and financial reporting), budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling techniques.

Experience developing insightful PowerBI dashboards strongly preferred.

Providing support to personnel management

Accounts payable and accounts receivable support

Briefing on financial authority, regulations and financial structure

Processing vendor invoices, payables and receivables

Initiating, processing and finalizing claims

Assisting members with credit card and reconciliation

Prepare and post required month-end journal entries with adequate clear support for approval by the Finance Manager

Contribute to driving performance management processes that incorporate performance reporting and analysis and competitive benchmarking

Ability to interact with all levels of management in a professional manner

Maintain and develop tools and models for refinery performance consistent with guidance from central finance teams

Must have a bachelor’s degree with a specialization in Business, Finance, Economics, or Engineering preferably

3-5 years of financial analysis experience is required

Knowledge of Power BI and management information systems to support the Rates database

Detail oriented with strong time management, planning and organizational skills

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Depending on qualifications, the successful candidate may be offered a position at a more appropriate level and/or ladder.

Role will report to the Manager of the Rates & Services West

Minimum 4 years of related and progressive industry/business experience

At least 5 years experience in a Finance department applying management accounting in an analyst role

Demonstrated skills in establishing strong working relationships with senior executives, internal/external customers, suppliers, contractors and team members

Experience in an ERP financial system required. Preferably Oracle, SAP/BPC, OnesStream

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and have the ability to work in a team environment

Strong organizational and analytical skills;ability to deal with ambiguity and to take initiative

Financial modeling skills with a strong understanding of key business drivers

Respond to ad hoc requests as required. Intermediate Financial Analyst Mandatory Skills

6+ years relevant accounting experience

Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a team-based environment,

Maintain the financial configuration for the management system

3-5 years of related experience in a similar finance position

Maintain the petty cash processes and requirements

Provide insight for continual improvement of the operational and financial effectiveness of the finance department.

Enrollment in the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP) or similar designation

Experience in a non-profit organization an asset

3-5 years proven experience in an FP&A role with a solid understanding of financial and management reporting.

Prepare financial reports, presentations, and dashboards for management, use visual storytelling to highlight key performance indicators (KPIs) and trends.

Analyze key performance indicators of the business against plan to support management’s use of data-based decision making.

Post-secondary degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
