Financial Business Analyst Jobs

One of our major clients in the Oil & Gas industry is seeking a Financial Business Analyst to join them in Calgary, AB, on a 1-year contract with the possibility of an extension.

The professional will be reporting to the Supervisor, Business Analysis. Being accountable for financial and business oversight and reporting for the asset team, as well as the development of budgets and forecasts.

Responsibilities

• AFE set-up and reporting.

• Approvals support and policy alignment.

• Monthly accruals, reporting and variance analysis of operating costs and/or capital.

• Coordination of asset forecasts, budgets, and long-range plan support.

• Internal and external audit support.

• Participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of ongoing improvement efforts to streamline and enhance financial processes.

• Support maintenance and development of key tools and models.

• Support Canada corporate reporting and ad hoc asset team and leadership requests.

• General Finance support to asset development and operations teams.

• Establishing process updates and documentation to align with new system implementation.

• Legally authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis without restrictions.

• Highly proficient in Excel and other Microsoft applications.

• Experience with SAP, specifically in the finance module.

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant experience as a Financial Business Analyst with minimum 3-5 years of experience.

• Finance experience in the Oil and Gas industry.

• Accounting designation.

• Experience in planning/budgeting.

• Understanding of financial reporting, income statements, and balance sheets.

• Experience with system implementations and is systems-savvy.

Work Schedule

• Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts, 40 hours/week.
