Environmental Data Management Specialist Jobs

Assists management by providing information, interpretation, and clarification of compliance requirements and permit / approval conditions.

Experience with the implementation or audit of ISO Management Systems, preferably ISO 14001:2015.

Completion of a diploma in related discipline - or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed equivalent

Coordinates environmental aspects of projects with internal groups, consultants, and external agencies to meet governing / regulatory authority requirements

Environmental Professional (EP) Certification an asset.

Driving requirements – driving to facilities, stations and other workplaces, as required; requires a valid drivers’ license.

2+ years’ experience maintaining databases, knowledge management systems or engineering change management processes required

Post-Secondary education in Data Management or related field required

Support the maintenance of data management processes to ensure compliance and consistency with applicable internal standards such as ISO

Perform non-technical checks of all documents and reports submitted for release to ensure compliance with policies and requirements.

Experience with Microsoft Office required

ERP system (preferred Infor LN)

Learn all document management platforms and their respective contents.

Prepare/update a reference document that lists all document management platforms and their respective contents.

Comply with Quality Procedures, Client work instructions and Processes, Grid Engineering Management Handbook (EMH).

Basic skills & desired properties:

Most suitable candidates will possess a degree in Documentation or in Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Experience in direct interaction with all hierarchical levels.

Overseeing technical development of species-specific mitigation and/or monitoring systems by specialist consultants

Leading related consultation and engagement with Indigenous groups, regulators and other stakeholders

Developing permit applications and obtaining permits and approvals for mitigation measures

Liaising with internal and external specialists, contractors and procurement staff to support planning and implementation

Act as day-to-day lead on environmental aspects of assigned projects ensuring VFPA expectations and interests are continually met.

Familiarity with research data management (RDM) and the research lifecycle - applied research experience considered an asset

Familiarity with the Canadian research landscape, including the Tri-Agency Research Data Management Policy and evolving DMP requirements

Familiarity and experience with project management strategies and best practices

Experience with the development and implementation of data management plans and/or data governance in a research setting

Assist with Alliance and Tri-Agencies collaborative activities in support of the Tri-Agency RDM Policy requirements

Graduate degree and experience working in academic and research settings

Strong analytical, problem – solving and decision making abilities, excellent organizational and time management skills.

Experience with EQuIS environmental data management system

Responsible for data management for the Project’s environmental monitoring programs and baseline data

Control the database’s change management procedures as the single point of accountability for required changesand improvementsin EQuIS modules

Responsible for the incident management database for environmental scope

Background in developing, monitoring and auditing environmental data management systems

You are an expert at managing and manipulating data in many formats and have excellent Excel skills

Providing accurate environmental data as required for external disclosures such as CDP and the Materials Benchmark Survey

Building connections with internal data partners and coordinating the efforts of consultants as needed for environmental data projects, such as assurance

Supporting the transition to a circular business model through research, data gathering and analysis

Collaborating with data providers to increase the level of automation and efficiency in our environmental data

Researching and establishing data processes for measuring and reporting on broader environmental impact metrics beyond GHG emissions

Strong analytical, problem – solving and decision making abilities, excellent organizational and time management skills.
