Environmental Attendant Jobs

Assisting with project management duties including budget, scope, and schedule tracking

Must know how to use common housecleaning devices such as brooms, mops, floor waxes, polishers and scrubbers.

Develop and revise procedures, measurement methods and other documents pertaining to environmental management;

Participate in the implementation of preventive and corrective actions for the environmental management system;

Perform internal audits on ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 certified management system procedures;

Participate in improving the facility’s environmental management;

Familiarity with environmental standards management and legislation.

Make recommendations following inspections to comply with both external regulations and internal requirements;

Grade 12 education or equivalent combination of education and experience

Previous experience in environmental services and patient transport, preferably in a hospital setting considered an asset

Good communication skills (reading, writing and verbal) as well as interpersonal, organizational and prioritizing skills

Knowledge of environmental legislation and/or land use Planning Act

Experienced in preparing and processing Environmental Compliance Approvals (ECAs) and Permits to Take Water (PTTW’s)

5+ years of professional experience with land use or environmental planning, reviews and permitting.

Around 6 years of experience conducting and managing environmental impact assessments, with a focus on nuclear and energy projects

Experience in the design and delivery of stakeholder and Indigenous engagement programs, including the use of innovative virtual engagement tools

Experience managing complex projects and multi-disciplinary teams

Experience with business development and building client relationships

You will collaborate with the environmental planning team for multi-disciplinary nuclear and energy projects, including environmental impact assessments and related studies

In-depth knowledge of relevant municipal, provincial and federal environmental legislation, regulations, policies, guidelines, and regulatory permitting and approval requirements

Environmental management during construction, including developing environmental management plans, on-site monitoring and documentation, is considered an asset

3 to 8 years’ experience, preferably in the consulting industry, with an emphasis on linear infrastructure EAs

Successful delivery of Class EAs for linear infrastructure. Experience with individual EAs would be considered an asset

Experience in the design and delivery of stakeholder and Indigenous Community engagement programs, including the use of innovative virtual engagement tools

Experience in business development activities including client development and responding to RFPs

Management of siteview entries, tracking the spend to budget and notifying the SAM of total spend;

Capacity to manage stress in a demanding environment

A University degree (B.Sc. or M.Sc.) or other technical post-secondary education in biology, or environmental sciences

History and proven experience building and maintaining productive professional relationships

Experience with Alberta Public Lands Act permitting

2-4 years relevant work experience providing support in environmental planning, approvals, assessments and environmental performance management preferred;

Experience with field work and overseeing management of environmental studies;

Experience with project management and coordination of environmental monitoring sampling program;

Support the DNNP (Darlington New Nuclear Project) by providing excellent project management and communication between multiple teams;

Strong verbal communication skills; ability to influence and communicate effectively across the company and externally at all levels;

Strong analytical, research and problem solving skills, and attention to detail;

Experience in the management and administration of environmental sampling programs is an asset.

Experience with database development and maintenance is an asset.

Experience with environmental impacts of utility operations is an asset.
