Coordination and Administration – Wellness and Disability Management

Minimum of 3 years of experience in Occupational Health & Safety, or related role.

Supports development and maintenance of OHS programs.

Supports training initiatives including conducting research, providing content, supporting delivery, compliance efforts and calendar planning.

Creates communications and resources material for OHS awareness raising and injury prevention.

Experience collaborating and developing programs in conjunction with a disability management team.

Experience within a government or crown organization or similar public institution (e.g., educational institute).

Recent, related experience must have occurred within the last 8 years and must include the following:

Experience managing a team of employees as a direct supervisor and providing guidance to senior advisor-level staff.

Experience developing and delivering employee wellness programs.

Experience developing programs aligned with best practices in retail or distribution environments.

Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.

In partnership with the HR Compliance Manager;

Sound knowledge of all applicable legislation (Occupational Health and Safety Acts, AODA and other Accessibility legislation) and HR policies and practices.

Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to prepare written reports, work plans and presentations.

Excellent facilitation skills and the ability to lead committees and collaborate with teams across departments.

Experienced in the development and delivery of health and safety programs and training, including conducting needs and risk assessments.

High level planning, time-management, and project management skills;

Responsible for development and management of Health, Safety and Wellness’ annual budget and financial reporting;

Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to manage and multitask in an environment filled with competing priorities;

Demonstrated experience in a public sector or educational environment; and

Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation.

Develop and implement strategies for supervisors to monitor compliance of training, awareness and educations plans for all stakeholder areas;

Knowledge and experience of computer systems (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite) and educational technologies (e.g. D2L, Zoom) is an asset

Support students in the use of eConestoga, the learning management system (D2L), as well as maintain course materials within this system

Create and maintain a positive learning environment which supports the diversity of students’ cultures, educational backgrounds, and learning styles

Post-secondary education in related field is required

Minimum three years of relevant industry experience

Experience teaching online asynchronous students is an asset

RN 12 hour days and RN 12 hour nights

Proven experience (8+ years) in a leadership role in health and safety, preferably in the elevator industry or a related industry

Individual and group education/facilitation skills utilizing adult education, self-management support and/or motivational enhancement principles

Independent decision making, self-direction and change management knowledge is an asset

Three years' clinical experience required (with clinical experience in the last year working with individual and/or group patient education)

Understanding of population health, health promotion strategies, chronic disease prevention and management and behaviour change principles is an asset

Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with clients, colleagues, management and community agencies

Previous experience in team development and leadership working within a collaborative interdisciplinary practice

Manage the reporting requirements to the Ministry of Labour and Ministry of Health;

Certified Disability Management Professional (CDMP) is considered an asset;

Manage and oversees programs and services to reduce WSIB costs and short-term and long-term absence costs;

Provides oversight to Service-wide occupational health, safety and wellness programs and education campaigns;

Previous experience in a unionized environment is preferred;

Experience working collaboratively with senior leadership and with multiple stakeholders on organizational-wide committees;

Provides coverage to the Senior Manager, Health, Safety and Wellness , when not available

P ractical health and safety experience in a research or health care setting would be preferred

Excellent writing, organizational, computer literacy and interpersonal skills

Supports the development, maintenance, and implementation of OICR Health, Safety and Wellness programs and initiatives , including

Administers safety and accessibility training, including compliance monitoring and assist ance with content development of training materials

Supports development and maintenance of health and safety documents (e.g., program manuals, guidelines, forms), inventories and tracking spreadsheets

Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in health and safety and risk management, preferably in a similar industry.

Experience in operational excellence, quality improvement, change management, and service innovation.

Demonstrated skills in data management, statistical analysis, and data visualization.

Excellent attention to detail, project management, and negotiation skills.

Knowledge of enterprise risk management frameworks, insurance management, claims management, and contracts/agreements in the industry.

Collaborate with senior leadership to set organizational risk management and health and safety goals.

Eight (8) years of relevant experience, including four years in a management position*;

New management with inspiring leadership and modern vision;

Manage the physical and mental health and safety program to ensure compliance with all legal requirements;

Ensure that managers comply with legislative and regulatory requirements such as the AIAOD, AOHS, AOHSM, RROHS, and SCCW;

Provide guidance to management on occupational health and safety matters;

Develop proactive management strategies, enhance practices and processes, and establish strategic partnerships with clients;

Knowledge of management and operation of recreation facilities and equipment;

Post-secondary diploma or specialized training related to business, economic development or recreation, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Ability to teach, train, and lead physically active programs and activities, including specialized training to offer programming (e.g.: fitness certifications).

2+ years of related working experience

Considerable knowledge in developing and administering recreation and youth programs and working knowledge of the rules of a variety of sports;

Experience working with a municipality is preferred
