2 years business experience. 6 months Collections experience combined with SAP experience can substitute for 2 years of business experience

Knowledge of the Alberta Utility market

Post-secondary education in a related field along with 3-5 years of collections experience required;

Experience working in a professional services environment is preferred;

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills;

Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities with constant interruptions;

Effective communication skills; including excellent listening skills and proven negotiating skills;

Experience with Aderant, an asset.

Mentor a team of up to 10 staff members on collection strategies, queue and call management.

Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma in Business preferred - or equivalent years of experience.

Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in Auto Financing (preferred) including Collections.

Excellent communication skills both written and oral.

Presentation skills are also necessary for biweekly and monthly meetings.

Collection calls and/or correspondence on past due accounts greater than 90 days past due.

5+ years of collections experience

Recruit, hire, train and evaluate staff members within the collections department

Oversee the collection of outstanding credit and invoices to minimize profit loss

Attend to inbound and outbound collections calls and correspondence

Demonstrated experience with collections management database systems

Preferred at least 2 years job related experience, or a Combination of education and experience may be considered

Salary Range: $53,110 to $66,389 per annum (plus comprehensive benefits, where applicable)

Responsibilities Of The Collections Administrator

Strong analytical, interpretive and judgment skills and problem-solving capabilities

Manage and resolve more complex delinquent account in a timely and accurate manner

Manage incoming correspondence received from clients and determine action required or next steps

Manage the balance between customer expectation and reputational risk of highly sensitive situations and disgruntled, irate clients

You obsess about customers, listen, engage, and act for their benefit

Previous collection/recoveries experience (3-5 years), ideally with mortgage collection.

Provides reports on assigned portfolio as requested to A/R Operations management

Collection Analysts are directly responsible for working with our end-user customers to receive payments for products and services.

Facilitate customer payments by providing necessary documentation to customer

Resolves customer account differences working with other employees including Sales.

Uses good judgment in balancing the ability to resolve issues with the need to escalate them to the appropriate person

Participates on process improvement projects as assigned

Minimum of 5 years operations experience in back office operations (i.e., customer setup, billing, contract management, customer relations, or collections).

Implement and manage collections policies and procedures for residential and commercial accounts.

Handle special projects assigned by manager.

Supervise operational organization of commercial collectors with some guidance from team manager.

Supervise (hires, directs, coaches, counsels and manages performance of) a team of collections professionals.

Effectively Manage in-bound Call Inquiries and/or makes outbound calls as part of resolution management

Provide feedback and recommendations to management to implement processes improvements.

Occurrence management including investigation and sign off of incidents in the Quality Management system.

Highly developed computer skills and working knowledge of a variety of software systems including HCIS
