Assistant Manager Merchandising Jobs

Manages a cross-functional team of support partners including logistics, fulfillment, finance, marketing, and user experience.

Manages a larger team or multiple small teams through direction of subordinate management and/or supervisory staff.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

Leads the development and implementation of interlinked category strategies rooted in customer insights, aimed at delivering the optimal customer experience.

5+ years of Merchandising, Purchasing or Buying experience

Oversees vendor performance and interconnected portfolio reviews.

Ensure new vendor set up accuracy along with yearly management of HHA, COI, LOG, third party audit certificates.

Deliver cost savings or cost avoidance with skillful utilization of market and industry knowledge.

Post-secondary education in Business, Marketing or related field preferred; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Manage vendor relationships at a high level and ensure growth and profitability within each category segment.

Ensure proper inventory levels and set direction and guidance for product specification and aging requirements.

Complies with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.

2-5 years of experience in Product or Category Management, preferably in electronics retail.

Project management, prioritization, multi-tasking, and time management skills.

Post-secondary education or equivalent work experience in Business and/or Consumer Electronics.

Excellent relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.

Understanding of retail, and accounting/finance.

Experience in negotiation with vendors/suppliers.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills including interviewing, negotiating, listening, conflict management, information gathering and coaching

·Coordinate inventory management processes; weekly store orders with Logistics department and fulfillment staff

·Manage PO process to deal proactively with issues.

·Certification/diploma in Business, Purchasing, Supply Chain/Logistics or equivalent required

·Minimum 1-year comparable experience in a retail environment preferred

·Strong detail and organizational skills required

·Strong & clear verbal written, and personal communication skills required

Relevant knowledge and understanding in marketing principles, product and vendor management;

A post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, Purchasing or related discipline;

Three (3) years of experience working in related field;

Microsoft Access and PIM experience, considered an asset;

Minimum 8 years of experience, combination of people management and Merchandising experience

Enroll and align on class strategies with Design, Product Development and Sourcing (carryover, seasonal newness, franchise management and slot investments

Build strategic vision for franchises and product lifecycle management

BA, BSc, BBA, BComm, (or equivalent), specialization in Retail Management an asset

The Manager supports employee development plans and manages performance

Understanding and experience in working for a Global Brand is required

Initiate and communicate team objectives and updates with Management and District Visual Merchandiser

Participate in execution of floor management as needed
