Job Description


Fast Labour Solutions is urgently looking for 20 Welders and/or Fitters for a structural steel fabrication shop in Calgary!


Details:


  • Length of Assignment: 3 months (Temporary)
  • Shifts Available: Day shift: 5:00 AM TO 3:15 PM OR Night Shift: 3:30 PM TO 1:00 AM
  • Wages: $24 - $33 per hour **Please note this depends on experience**
  • Start: ASAP
  • Location: Calgary, Alberta


Duties


  • Reads and interprets blueprints or welding process specifications and welding symbols.
  • Operates manual flame-cutting equipment.
  • Operates manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), and shielded metal arc welding (SMAW).
  • Removes welds using the Air Arc Gouging process.
  • Working on skids, handrails, ladders, and platforms
  • Completes assigned work within a given timeframe and according to specifications.
  • Accurately completes time sheets, weight sheets, hazard analysis sheets, etc.
  • Needs to adjust welding equipment and tooling according to work specifications.
  • Completes housekeeping duties in assigned area or project area daily and/or when required.


Requirements


  • PPE Required: Steel Toe boots, basic hand tools (air die grinder, extension core, MIG pliers, paint scraper).
  • Possesses a solid understanding of welding equipment and welding accessories.
  • Must have a reliable source of transportation.
  • Specialization in structural construction welding is considered an asset.
  • Experience required: 2nd-year apprentice, 3rd-year apprentice, Journeyperson, and or experienced fitters.
  • Possesses knowledge of pre-heat and post-heat temperatures and applications.
  • Ensures all required CWB qualifications are current.
