Job Description
Position Summary:
The Web Product Owner plays a significant role in maximizing the value of the Agile Teams to deliver on strategic and operational business outcomes to align with the company vision and Digital Strategic Roadmap.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Understand business and end-user needs; identify and prioritize features to be delivered to meet those needs.
  • Possess an in-depth understanding of the Digital Strategy, the desired end-to-end Customer Experience and is responsible to develop a vision for the final desired product which aligns to the 407 ETR strategic priorities.
  • Work with business and technical stakeholders to develop and document user stories.
  • Manage/oversee vendor relationships, overseeing and managing RFP/RFI efforts as well as contract and pricing negotiations.
  • Set expectations with business stakeholders for delivery of new capabilities, features, and functionalities.
  • Analyze feedback from sprint reviews, and other data such as end user feedback and operational metrics, to identify and understand product needs.
  • Act as the voice of the customer to guide all stages of software development, including user story development, sprint planning, and prioritization of the product backlog.
  • Lead the sprint review meeting to present the output from the sprint to key stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with key business partners from Marketing, Customer Operations and Communications departments.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, story refinements, and team retrospectives; ensure the team has a clear understanding of priorities and next steps.
  • Participate in sprint planning to determine the team’s objectives for the upcoming sprint and help the team with clear acceptance criteria for the stories

Qualifications:
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent organization skills, an enviable ability to manage multiple responsibilities and are motivated by an innate need to deliver significant contribution to our customers' success.
  • Experience driving KPI’s and long term objectives
  • [3+] years of relevant work experience with experience in a product owner role within a technology driven business
  • Technical Aptitude to understand systems and processes that can help in decision making
  • Product owner certifications (e.g. Certified Scrum Product Owner, SAFe Product Owner Certification) a plus.
  • Able to author/drive creation of Business Cases and product centric financial models
  • Expert communicator, must be able to ensure buy-in from stakeholders and influence all major decisions and strategy through collaboration
  • Experience with a user centric design approach, driving requirements through use case modelling and storyboarding
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent years of experience).
  • Strong knowledge and/or aptitude for market & product analysis, business analysis & requirements gathering

Summary
407 ETR's Information Technology division is responsible for the infrastructure and software to enable the efficient operation of the highway---including toll capture, account management, financials, and data storage/analytics---as well as customer services including call-center, web, IVR and supporting workflows.
Delivery is accomplished using an Agile-Scrum approach, including self-organization, short iterations, strong collaboration, and dedicated teams in scrum rooms.
At 407, all developers meet weekly to briefly hear updates from management, then break off into multiple learning streams. Topics include Cloud, Best Practices in Java, Data Streaming, SalesForce and Data Science. Some weeks, the streams are very hands-on (i.e. getting AWS.CLI up and running, playing with Kubernetes, learning Python). The developer led topics range from a learning above a wide variety of topics (i.e. Cloud, Best Practices in Java, Data Streaming, SalesForce, Data Science...).
