Job Description

The Opportunity:


Our client is a rapidly growing Canadian company dedicated to the development of easy-to-use, low-energy and affordable solutions for solids management and nutrient removal for their clients in water and waste management. They have developed a range of their own technologies to serve these markets.


As part of this growth, we are supporting them in the hiring of Water Treatment Technicians to help deliver and maintain projects on client sites.


Successful candidates will have a high degree of autonomy and trust placed in them in this exciting growth phase for our client.


This role will involve overnight travel to client sites throughout Canada.


What You'll Be Doing:


  • Performing installation of specialized water/wastewater systems as required
  • Communicating project status and work conditions to the Service Supervisor and/or Project Manager.
  • Providing support to clients operating dewatering, flocculation and fluid-handling equipment.
  • Operating dredging equipment
  • Performing the setup of equipment, tools, and materials for various applications
  • Maintaining and operating both sludge and water pumps as well as operating metering systems
  • Laying out hose, pipes, liners, and Geotube® units
  • Running both Dry and Emulsion polymer systems

What You'll Need to Be Successful:


  • Supervisory experience would be considered an asset
  • Ability to perform site inspections for the purposes of estimating, managing, and QA/QC
  • Ideally two (2) years’ experience in Solids/Water separation
  • Have a valid driver’s license and be able to safely operate company vehicles
  • Be able to clearly communicate with crew and management
  • Have knowledge of pipe types and fittings
  • Environmental Technologist degree (or diploma) would be considered an asset
  • Skill in the use of computers – MS Office and estimating software/job costing systems
  • Experience on industrial sites considered an asset
  • Knowledge of operating/maintaining mechanical equipment considered an asse
  • Self starter and passion for the environmental industry
  • Ability to communicate effectively – both verbally and in writing
  • Familiarity with health and safety requirements considered an asset
  • Experience with fluid handling equipment considered an asset
  • Able and willing to work under pressure and meet deadlines
