Job Description

Adecco is currently hiring a permanent full-time Warehouse Manager to work in North Toronto, ON. In this role you will be responsible for all warehouse operations, planning, processes, staff, inbound logistics and outbound warehouse performance for order fulfillment and processing including carrier selection & management of all transportation. This role requires 10+ years of previous warehouse management experience with strong data management and communication skills.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Workforce

  • Chair separate Warehouse Health & Safety Committee and maintain documentation
  • Responsible for weekly hours worked by staff for HR payroll purposes
  • Schedule shifts and/or overtime for staff including adjustments when needed to meet demand.
  • Manage all safety/other training needed and record keeping with regular floor inspections
  • Ensure effective and safe use of forklifts and other warehouse equipment
  • Manage and train warehouse staff to ensure all warehouse objectives and KPIs are met efficiently
  • Work with HR for the recruitment, retention, attendance management, discipline and overall performance management of approximately 10-15 hourly employees and a Warehouse Coordinator including helping to develop related processes and policies
  • Manage external agency and temporary labour ad hoc

Operations

  • Work with Finance and SCM for inventory/asset cycle counts and reconciliations.
  • Troubleshoot operating issues on the warehouse floor including bin and bar code management.
  • Warehouse is responsible for processing transfer orders as well as inbound cross docks to USA as arranged by Supply Chain.
  • Work with IT on issues/opportunities/daily operations of the WMS for order processing

Logistics

  • Responsible for truck carrier cost/services/rate review. Review and approve carrier invoices
  • Schedule inbound/outbound truck and courier deliveries for product movements
  • Communicate with Customer Service, Sales, SCM, on work in progress, order status etc.
  • Responsible for warehouse supplies and replenishment (eg boxes, materials, cleaning supplies, garbage disposal, equipment maintenance and repairs)
  • Work with Customer Service and Finance to process RMAs


Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Customer Service, SCM and sales functions that support inventory/order processing
  • Strong written communications and influential oral communications to manage expectations and set firm direction
  • Previous experience managing warehouse employees to create a high performing hourly workforce while maintaining compliance
  • Strong technology skills to manage data and processes (ERP Business Central, Excel, management reporting)
  • Able to work quickly, multitask with strong operational problem-solving skills
  • Minimum 10 years warehouse operations experience
  • Able to collaborate with other teams with strong process orientation
  • Required health & safety and related warehouse operations training for on-site support
