A building materials distribution business is currently seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to lead their Calgary facility. With responsibility for both the Warehouse and Inventory Management, the Warehouse Manager will lead a team of full-time, non-unionized employees to maintain the smooth, efficient, and safe functioning of this key location.
Reporting directly to the Director of Warehouse Operations, the Warehouse Manager will be responsible for all day-to-day management and operations of the warehouse including; team/labour management, order management, receiving, inventory accuracy, flow of product and for maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
Together with the VP of Operations the Warehouse Manager will collaborate and advise on all strategic initiatives relating to the warehouse and of the business including (but not limited to); identifying and initiating process improvement areas, operational performance analysis, staffing and retention, driving productivity and efficiency through the team, improving employee engagement, warehouse layout and configuration, best practices, etc.
Ideal candidates will possess the following skills and experience;

• A hands on team player who leads from the front in a fast paced, high growth environment.
• Able to clearly and effectively communicate with the team, peers and superiors in both verbal and written formats.
• Able to effectively lead a team of 5+
• Inventory management experience in a high SKU environment.
• Excellent knowledge in the safe operation of materials handling equipment. Forklift Certification an asset; First Aid, WHMIS certificates are beneficial.
• Prior Warehouse Operational experience at the Manager or Supervisor level for a minimum of 10+ years.
• Possesses a strategic mindset and able to develop process improvements and projects to increase efficiency, safety and overall operations of the warehouse.
• Proven experience leading and implementing process improvements.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong business acumen and able to effectively advise the management team. Function as the subject matter and departmental expert, advising senior leadership as it relates to operational activity of the facility.
• Proficient with a Warehouse Management System and Labor Management System.
