Beattie Pet Hospital Ancaster, located in the Meadowlands, is currently searching for a Veterinary Receptionist to join our growing team. Our staff is our work family, we are looking for someone who meets our values and is driven to help us grow, foster relationships and meet our goals (big or small). We are a Fear Free Clinic and working on our Feline Friendly Certification. The front team is the face of the clinic, the first and last interaction clients have with each visit to the clinic.

The Responsibilities

• General housekeeping duties
• Ability to answer a multiline phone system, track and book appointments effectively, placing outbound calls to pet parents for follow-up and future appointment bookings
• Handling and soothing animals during examinations, treatments, and vaccinations ("ooooo" and "awwww" over every adorable pet that comes through our doors)
• Invoicing/billing; creating estimates, obtaining pet owner confirmation and processing payments
• Respond and manage email correspondence, schedule appointments
• Willingness to learn more regarding; there is so much more to the industry than playing with puppies and kittens. If you are open to learning, we are happy to teach!
• Excellent customer service skills; a real aptitude for putting people at ease and creating a welcoming environment

The Position

• Previous Veterinary Clinic or Animal Experience is considered an asset
• Staff Appreciation Events throughout the year
• 9-12 hour shifts (longer shifts, more days off!)
• No Over-Night, Holidays or On Call Shifts
• Paid Lunch Breaks and Sick Days
• Rotating Weekends
• Paid Vacation (2 weeks) (for Full Time Employees)

• Full-time preferrd but we are flexible
• Previous customer service or front desk experience in hospitality is an asset
