TESTER - HYBRID

One of The Select Group's top banking clients is looking for a Tester with experience in Fixed Income testing in the Toronto area! Please note: 1-2 days per week at our client's downtown Toronto office will be required for this role.

• The ideal candidate will have both Work Experience in Fixed Income Operations & Industry Testing experience.
• The Fixed Income Ops experience takes precedence over the Industry Testing experience.

Work Experience:

• Familiar with DTC, CDS and other clearing agencies and how they operate
• (In depth knowledge) Pre and post settlement support related to account opening, confirmation, cash management, margin, and collateralization.
• (Working Knowledge) Asset Servicing (corporate actions/entitlements), Correspondent Banking Services, and the Wire Payment Operations
• (In depth knowledge) Supporting and delivering specific operational processes related to the pre and post settlement of Security, Derivative, Foreign Exchange and Money Market transactions
• (Subject matter expert) Review key process and control documentation to ensure they are accurate and up to date.
• Provides advice and guidance to assigned business/group on implementation of solutions.
• (Proven examples of) Identify operational inefficiencies and suggest and implement process improvements
• Supports the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
• (Proven examples of) Leading projects within Fixed Income operations and understanding project life cycle management

Testing Experience:

The role requires the individual to work with operations and industry partners to write appropriate testing scripts and execute testing while reporting back with results and/or remediation.

• Reviews test plans/cases with stakeholders, obtaining approvals
• Analyzing, understanding and creating business requirements (for example – creating a Requirements document)
• Developing test plans and test cases
• Discovers, reports and tracks defects (for example - via JIRA)
• Performs User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for Fixed Income Operations
• Takes ownership of deliverables to ensure deliverables are met while adhering to critical timeframes and deadlines
• Executing test cases required for end-to-end testing on distributed and/or mainframe test environments

Qualifications:

• Must have strong time management and organization skills
• Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications; aptitude in learning new software applications
• Must have experience in managing processes, and prioritizing multiple tasks within a high paced, high pressure environment,
• Demonstrate a willingness to learn and advance their knowledge
• (Nice to have) Change management experience
• Can readily adapt to a rapidly changing investment business and technology environment
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication skills in collaborating with team members. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to quickly develop a rapport with internal and external business partners in order to facilitate timely completion of tasks.
• Applies quality assurance best practices with an added focus on automation.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to think through problems and assess a variety of factors and recommend a solution
• Detail-oriented, methodical. Possess an acute attention to detail. High attention to detail and accuracy.
• (Nice to have) Project management qualification/certification
• Demonstrates an aptitude for technology and working with financial systems. Strong technical and analytical skills.
• In depth knowledge of Fixed Income Operations
• Self-motivated, flexible, adaptable
• Prior experience implementing relevant industry initiatives (for example: T+2 experience)

• 1-2 days per week on-site (Downtown Toronto, ON)
• Contract (potential to extend)
