Technical Support Specialist
Description
The technical support specialist performs technical and end-user support functions to ensure optimal performance and maximum productivity. This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting and actively resolving end-use help requests.
Responsibilities
• Providing tier 1 technical support services to end users;
• Providing mobile devices support services;
• Performing hardware and software installations, upgrades and troubleshooting;
• Managing and prioritizing calls in a help desk ticketing tracking system;
• Providing basic end-user training; and
• Developing knowledge base articles for end users.
Desired Skills
• Degree in computer science or related field;
• Relevant industry certifications;
• Experience with a help desk ticketing system;
• Experience with one or more operating systems and environments;
• Knowledge of desktop security best practices;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; and
• Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Applications and Technologies
• Desktop operating systems: Windows 10, Mac OS;
• Mobile operating systems: , iOS, Android;
• Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange;
• Microsoft Active Directory;
• Microsoft Office;
• Microsoft SharePoint; Microsoft End Point Manager
• SQL;
• Java environment; and
• WebShere Application Server.
Must Haves:
- Knowledge of ticketing system i.e Service Now preferred
- Providing mobile devices support services
- Desktop operating systems: Windows 10, Mac OS;
- Performing hardware and software installations, upgrades and troubleshooting
- 2+ years of call centre and technical support experience
- Managing and prioritizing calls in a help desk ticketing tracking system
- Mobile operating systems: , iOS, Android;
- Providing basic end-user training
- Providing tier 1 technical support services to end users
