Security Shift Leader

Position Summary

Provides a safe and secure environment for everyone within the facility and on the campus.

Monitors and responds to various life safety alarms and systems.

Investigates and reports incidents and hazards identified.

Intervenes in physically violent situations to safeguard staff and property.

Supervises the officers on the assigned shift.

Ensures compliance with departmental guidelines including attendance.

Leads the officers in their daily duties.

Instructs staff and maintains staff competency on all aspects of the officers job performance including equipment operation, behavior, appearance and customer / staff interaction.

Supports the mission and goals of the hospital and department.

Minimum Qualifications And Requirements

Three to five years as a supervisor or equitable secondary education.

High school diploma or GED required.

Must be able to read, write, understand and clearly speak English.

Must maintain a valid driver's license in good standing with DMV.

Must be able to sit, stand and walk for 8 hours.

Must be able to react and physically intervene with no health restrictions in violent situations.
