Team Lead, LTC Operations & Maintenance
Health Services - Long-Term Care
Two Regular Full-Time Opportunities
Salary Range: $86,443 - $108,052 per year plus comprehensive benefits
Work mode: Onsite
Location #1: 4 days/week at Sheridan Villa - 2460 Truscott Drive, Mississauga and 1 day/week at Davis Centre, 80 Allan Drive, Bolton
Location #2 - Alternating 3 days/2 days per week atTall Pines LTC - 1001 Peter Robertson Blvd, Brampton and Malton Village, 7075 Rexwood Road, Mississauga
Hours of work:  35 hours per week

What You Will Do In This Role
Your work will be performed under the general direction of the Facility Services Supervisor:
  • Develop and maintain service contracts and standard operating procedures for the effective maintenance and operations of building systems and components
  • Administer and monitor the homes’ quality and risk management programs
  • Develop and maintain positive working interrelationships between maintenance staff and staff of other departments including nursing, dietary, activation, housekeeping laundry, resident services and Adult Day Services
  • Schedule, develop and administer comprehensive preventative maintenance programs
  • Monitor the work of outside contractors
  • Manage and monitor work requests using a Computerized Maintenance Management System to comply with all applicable legislation and regulations
  • Formally supervise full and part time unionized maintenance staff across multiple shifts, 7 days/week
  • Provide input into vendor service contracts and report on vendor performance
  • Manage centre materials and resources to ensure effective use and improve efficiency and make recommendations for changes to increase service levels
What The Role Requires
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered
  • Knowledge of building operations including groundskeeping, parking, security and housekeeping
  • Post secondary degree or diploma in a related field
  • Minimum of 1 year related supervisory experience within a unionized environment
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience within a Geriatric or Long Term care environment with knowledge of building systems; heating, ventilation and air-conditioning; mechanical, electrical, chemical, architectural, structural and building envelope
Skills/Abilities
  • Business and financial acumen to prepare Scopes of Work and technical information for tender documents, contracts and requests for quotations
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation including Ontario Building Code, National and Ontario Fire Codes, Ontario Natural Gas and Propane Code, Technical Standards and Safety Authority standards, Canadian Standards Association standards, Electrical Safety Authority, Occupational Health and Safety Act, WHMIS, ASHRAE Standards and Guidelines, Employee Standards Act LTC Act, MOHLTC program Standards, OH&S Act and Regulations, WHMIS, PIDAC
  • Technical skills to review and analyze technical mechanical and building drawings and specifications
  • Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams to conduct day to day business
