Reporting directly to the Manager Operations, the Supervisor Facility Operations main responsibility is overseeing the day to day operations of the facility. The Supervisor Facility Operations provides effective leadership, mentoring and training to operations staff and contractors, troubleshoots and supports Gibson Energy’s commitment to operations excellence.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Maintains and updates facility budgets as required.
  • Provides vacation relief Terminal and Pipeline Manager, if required.
  • Participates in setting EH&S Objectives and targets for Operational Functional groups.
  • Manages performance of individuals to achieve results.
  • Builds a collaborative, innovative team to exceed customer expectations (internal and external).
  • Updates and maintains operational procedures through Gibson’s Learning Management System.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
  • Is responsible for planning and participating in turnaround activities and outages.
  • Aligns with the Company values (people, safety, integrity, executional focus), responsible for developing and mentoring team members, and providing guidance and direction for the overall group, including:
  • Demonstrates a personal commitment and proactive approach to Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) through participation in all applicable EH&S programs and ensures safe operation of the branch, team or unit and compliance with all Company EH&S policies and procedures.
  • Participates in Site Management Reviews.
  • Creates an environment of engagement for team members to produce high quality services.
  • Communicates the Company’s vision and strategy in relatable terms.
  • Manages day-to-day facility operations.
  • Manages operational schedules.


What You'll Bring

  • Strong working knowledge of midstream infrastructure (liquid hydrocarbons storage, processing and transportation)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in a leadership role.
  • Has strong problem-solving skills.
  • Functional knowledge of control systems SCADA / DCS.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of progressive experience in Terminal & Pipelines Facility Operations.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, Maximo.
  • Align and be fully competent with the functional competencies outlined in the job profile assigned via the Competency Management and Development System (CMDS).
  • Problem solving complex operational assets.
  • Possesses a self-motivated, team player attitude with a drive for success.
  • Industry related post-secondary education an asset.
  • Possesses good written and oral presentation skills and ability to communicate well with employees and customers.
  • Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely to operational staff.
  • Functional knowledge of Control Room Management (CRM) compliance elements.
  • Ability to delegate authority when necessary.
  • Functional knowledge of the Association Agreement and the ability to maintain harmonious management/member relations.
