Currently we have an exciting opportunity for an individual who wants to advance their career as a Summer Student – Finance - Temporary Reduced Full-Time (30 hours/week)


Position Overview


Join us as a Finance Summer Student and help to Create Health and Build Community in East Toronto! As a Summer Student you will work with us in the fight against Covid-19. You will work on Covid-19, redevelopment and operations related projects and other initiatives in collaboration with various departments and teams across the hospital and external partners.


This position is offered through the support of Government of Canada-Canada Summer Jobs Program. All applicants must meet the minimum requirements of that program.


Primary Responsibilities


  • Support the documentation of best practices to ensure sustainability
  • Contribute to daily and ad-hoc tasks of the business office
  • Assist with data modeling, analysis and evaluation
  • Assist in data collection and validation efforts for ministry reporting
  • Participate in information gathering and organization for Ministry related COVID-19 reporting
  • Assist in preparation and presentation of capital reports
  • Provide operational support to our staff
  • Support projects and initiatives throughout, including daily operations, planning, logistics, and communications.
  • Other administrative duties as assigned


EDUCATION


  • Enrollment in a relevant post-secondary program, required. Business or Accounting field, preferred.
  • High school diploma, required.


Experience

  • Ability to prepare written reports and documents that are clear and concise
  • Experience with information gathering and the ability to synthesize and summarize information
  • Expectation of this role encompasses the need to maintain confidentiality with respect to all aspects of the work being performed
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Students must be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident or person under Refugee Protection…this does NOT include those with a study visa, work visa or refugee status
  • Demonstrated computer literacy with proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Comfortable working within a team as a leader and/or team member and with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.
  • Strong demonstration of tact and diplomacy with a customer service focus
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, and prioritize workload
