The Vendor Student position is an integral role within the Vendor Management Office. It supports IT Stakeholders and Vendor Managers in crafting successful, measurable and sustainable business outcomes with valued vendors while mitigating risk. This position measures and analyzes the performance metrics delivered by IT vendors to ensure quality and efficient vendor services.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain price benchmarks to drive the best price from vendors
• Handle vendor scorecards and dashboards for operations and management
• Assist annual review of licensing agreements in collaboration with service managers to ensure continued value for Cenovus
• Identify savings opportunities for renewals, software licensing, and services. Follow through with vendors and partners to obtain identified savings.
• Facilitate the business needs for ongoing technical support on selected products by ensuring that maintenance and support renewals are managed/handled/ordered in advance of their expiration
• Assist in vendor compliance and performance management, including cost and quality analysis

Qualifications

• Legally entitled to work in Canada full-time for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation upon application (e.g., work visa)
• Available to begin work in September 2023

Education

• Currently enrolled in a Business, IT, or Supply Chain Undergraduate Program at an accredited post-secondary institution and returning to full-time studies after the work term
• Attach copies of transcripts

Skills / Competencies

• Work effectively both in a team environment and independently
• Effectively communicate technical concepts to business unit team members.
• Comfortable with independent research
• Strong analytical skills to analyze and interpret data, identify patterns, and make data-driven decisions.
